Awww, c'mon, don't you realize it is yet another vast right wing (racist, if you must) conspiracy.

Do you have a piece based on facts not OPINION?  Just more mud slinging from a party going downhill and no one in control

bipolarber -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 6:24:19 AM)

Considering that ACORN's efforts are to register new voters from the lower and middle classes, and that a majority of those registrations are of black and latino voters, yes, you COULD make a case that the anti-ACORN whisper campaign is indeed racist in origin.

Funny how the republicans never seem to question white, upper class voters, isn't it?

(Or how you hardly see any minority faces in the crowd at their rallies.)

It may or may not be a concious decision on their part... but it's still what it adds up to: keeping the minorities from having a voice.

We gotta do some`m about this.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/michaeltomasky/2008/oct/20/republicans-uselections2008

SACRAMENTO -- The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario over the weekend on suspicion of voter registration fraud.
State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that all signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California. His firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM, collects petition signatures and registers voters in California and other states.
Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department late Saturday came after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by people employed by YPM.

Arrest the mother-fuckers,I say.[8D]

Mudslinging?  Investigations going on in over dozen states, six counties in Alabama with more people registered to vote this year than are of voting age!....and all you can say is mudslinging?  Of course, you will tell us, as ACORN is spinning, "just a few bad apples.  The most precious thing freedom gives us is the ability to vote for the government of our choice.  Obama supported organizations like Acorn steel away that vote with every false vote cast.
Libs always seem to want "facts" from the side of their arguements, but we conservative have to accept their point of view at face value.  Slogans and rhethoric do move people, it's called propaganda...and that is whatthe Obama campaign has been so terribly successful at doing this cycle.  ACORN and it's shell organizations under it's umbrella are well disciplined, street "community organizers", and of that there is no doubt.  They are also planting the seeds of the weeds that will overgrow and strangle our country.

The AP reports what some guy named Booner says...

And?

So?

Doesn`t mean what Booner says is  true.

Owner59 -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 7:58:53 AM)

 I`m thinking the ACORN thing is a smoke screan for real reg. fraud and illegal stuff like "slamming",were they reg. you as a republican without you know it,and caging. where legit voterds are illegally purged.

These crimes run in the thousands and the are real cases and rulings.

And not for nothing,a real threat to our democracy.This is how Florida was stolen in 2000.And this and GOP election fraud(another issue) are how this election may be stolen.

The GOP is working very hard behind the scenes to toss as many legit voters of the roll as possible in democratic areas.

What a phony Sen. McCain had become.

LadyEllen -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 8:02:13 AM)

I am greatly surprised I must say, that if all this fraud is going on so widely and extensively and has been going on for so long, that there seem to be so few arrests and prosecutions for it.

I am sure that an absence of any evidence whereby arrest might be warranted or prosecution supported has nothing to do with this state of affairs.

Rather it must be the case that police and courts are found to be unfit for purpose through their lack of action; a situation which requires strong action to remedy such that they understand the seriousness of not following up whatever accusations are made with robust enforcement, or risk being labelled as incompetent and/or aiding and abetting the enemies of Amerika.

SilverMark -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 8:31:36 AM)

You do realize that the actual fraud will only take place if someone fraudulent votes? Registering to vote means little, voting carries with it severe penalties if it is indeed fraudulent. You could fill out a form saying you are Mickey Mouse and as long as you don't show up to vote in costume all you have done was fill out a form.
Part of what ACORN has done wrong was to hire the wrong people to register others what they have done right is register huge numbers of other real voters that will now have the opportunity to exercise their rights as American Citizens. If they do perpetrate a fraud then they should be treated as any one else that does so and I am certain they will be dealt with. Acorn is not alone in what they do, there are constant assaults on voter rolls like the ones taking place in Ohio by the Republicans.
I am afraid as things are now progressing, we may not know exactly who our next President is until well beyond election day. We will know the winner by number but somehow I fear that it will all make Bush vs. Gore look like an easy decision.

NuminousLeader -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 9:03:19 AM)

If you listened to or read something other than opinion, than you would know that, no matter who is resgistery the voter, even if they know the information to not be true.  They must turn it in.  This is what acorn did and it was acorn who informed the election board in several states of this.

Every registeration has to be turned in.  period, even if it's for Mickey Mouse to vote.  No crime is commited until someone tries to vote as mickey.

bipolarber -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 9:11:42 AM)

Somewhere out there, is a man named Michael "Mickey" Mouse, who is dreading going to the polls on November 4th....[:D]

It's actually quite a cath 22 we've gotten ourselves into over here.

If the guy who benifited from the vote fraud wins he has no incentive to pursue those who did the fraud. For instance in 2000 there were clear cut slam dunk federal voting rights laws broken in Florida. GWB won because of them and his Justice Department didn't find anything to investigate.

OTOH if your opponent uses vote fraud and still loses then pursuing his supporters will get you condemned for using your office for political ends.

Vendaval -> RE: ACORN's Red Shirts (10/23/2008 1:52:24 PM)

Yes, that has been my prediction about this election all along.  Are you placing any bets on how long the whole controversy will drag out?  Days, weeks or months?  And what do we win for calling it first?  Would you rather be paid in dollars or another currency?
