tell us what you have bought recently (this year)...

are they new albums? new bands??? american? canadian?? off our continent??

well...as it stands...i actually have purchased some american bands....for the first time in over 20 years!!!!!!

in this moment - beautiful tragedy 2007
in this moment - the dream 2008
pharaoh - the longest night 2007
pharaoh - be gone 2008
benedictum - seasons of tragedy

those above all us bands...

epica - the divine conspiracy 2007 netherlands
nightwish - dark passion play 2007 finland
tystnaden - in our eye 2008 italy
dawn of destiny - begins 2007 germany
dawn of destiny - rebellion 2008 germany

i am waiting for:

operatica - the calling  usa oct 24th... yay!!! so soon!!

i tend to have to purchase direct of their myspace page...as i have found local stores do not stock my music.  they only stock pop, rap, hip hop, country... UGH!!!!! but not metal...unless its like acdc or iron maiden or metallica...which is not my tastes....

lol ... no way I'd remember ALL that I've purchased this year ...
BUT yesterday,  I purchased new strings for my 12 string guitar
(sometimes the expense of good strings makes me wish I played a 6 string   )
and I bought a "Flook" CD - Wrong Foot Forward

There is no way I can remember everything I bought this year!

I think the last was Duffy and Sharon Jones....maybe......I have too many CD's to remember what was bought when.

i haven't a bought a new CD in years - management and/or bands give them to me for free.

i have plenty of extras if anyone wants CDs by independent/unsigned bands.

Same here. I get a lot of stuff for free. And give most of it away.

I seriously can't remember all the CDs I bought this year although I know there was some AC/DC, Lincoln Park, Amy Grant, Alison Kraus, Scorpions, Stabbing Westward and Pat Benatar. I did buy an antique piano that I am planning on fixing up though. That was my favorite musical purchase this year!

Sucked up the Clash & Radiohead back catalogues.

I had 800 CD's stolen from me last year so I've been on an iTunes spree - Woot! To list them all would take up WAY too much space. There have been some very cool people who have sent me compilation CD's of their stuff, to help replace the stolen stuff. But I'm getting everything from rock to jazz to classical to flamenco (I grew up on that)...good stuff!

What make Ray? You don't have to spring for a National or Gibson these days.

I'm always on the lookout for the music I grew up with...trying to replace all the vinyl with cd's.....unfortunately, they are usually the greatest hits compilations, and inevitably, there was something else not released on the original that I want.  But I have tons of different stuff...from Bach to Beethoven to Barry to Garth to Meatloaf.....and some Celtic artist thrown in for good measure.  I pretty much like everything with the exception of rap.....can't seem to get into the newer music tho..not sure why, it just grates on me sometimes......go figure!

I just got the new Hank Williams III CD a few days back
http://www.amazon.com/Damn-Right-Rebel-Proud-Williams/dp/B001BR4YYE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1225246334&sr=1-1

Sadly, it's not as good as the last one
http://www.amazon.com/Straight-Hell-Hank-Williams-III/dp/B000AGTQGS/ref=sr_1_5_s9_rk?ie=UTF8&s=music&s9r=8a5801be0d117bc7010d35a1e47f0425&itemPosition=5&qid=1225246334&sr=1-5
but it's still good

I also just got the new Lucinda Williams (no relation to Hank III) and it's her best in years, IMHO
http://www.amazon.com/Little-Honey-Lucinda-Williams/dp/B001DXF9JU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1225246521&sr=1-1

I've just recently been wearing out the soundtrack to "The Wire" and it's excellent
http://www.amazon.com/Wire-Pieces-Matter-Years-Music/dp/B000YDOOT6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1225246628&sr=1-1

I never realized how great Jesse Winchester is, either, so I'm doing thirty or so years of catching up
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Jesse-Winchester/dp/B0000032AN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1225246708&sr=1-1
