People get caught up in these games and it becomes their reality. No Im not shocked to hear something like this. I've played online games  and I've heard many times of marriages breaking up and people moving to another country to be with someone they've never met face-to-face. Its really sad as for some its a form of mental illness.

When a person is committing real crimes in the real world because of situations in simulated realities on the Net, it is time for some serious intervention and therapy.  And criminal charges should be filed if necessary.  I think this types of problems are a sad indication of isolation and alienation in our society.

My ex-boyfriend's marriage broke up over World of Warcraft. He, his wife, and his stepkid would all sit on different computers ignoring each other and playing the game for up to 12 hours a day. He was getting by on 3 hours sleep a night. When he told me that before he left her, he had a girlfriend in the game and they would go into the inn and her character would perform oral sex on his character while he typed to her about how good it was, I said wow, you don't even cheat like a grownup...
