ORIGINAL: beargonewild Ok people, what is this fascination with Cthuluh? Some of us ACTUALLY like H.P. Lovecraft. It seemed to be a sort of monster, or symbol representing a monster, of a form which only a diseased fancy could conceive. If I say that my somewhat extravagant imagination yielded simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature, I shall not be unfaithful to the spirit of the thing. A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque and scaly body with rudimentary wings; but it was the general outline of the whole which made it most shockingly frightful. --The Call of Cthulhu For your perusal. . . Who Will Be Eaten First? Add in a love of sci-fi, playing D&D, and the fact that my license plate holder reads, Miskatonic University / Home of the Fighting Cehplapods, is it a wonder that I like Cthulhu? Really, I think that it is because the human mind cannot gaze upon or be in the presence of Cthulhu, without becoming insane. This makes it fascinating. Now now no need to get your knickers in a knot sweetie! H.P. Lovecraft was a gifted writer though I just haven't gotten to reading his works yet. When you wear reading Lovecraft, I was reading the likes of Arthur C. Clarke, Poe, King, Straub, Rice, Heinlein, McCaffery, Mercedes Lackey, Bradshaw, Brooks, Weiss & Hickman, Leon Uris, etc.
