Definately get rid of any with plastic snaps because they just don't hold. I lean forward to fasten the front ones and kinda half kneel to snap the back ones. I have a hard time keeping the seams straight if I don't put the stockings on before snapping them, but if you are just using regular nylons, that might work. On a side note...can you believe that last year Victoria's Secret did not even carry ONE style of garter belt??? I was stunned, but fortunately Kaufmann's always has them. best regards, fate

Victoria's Secret sells them, but only through their website. You can find them from time to time in the stores, but you have to hunt, search and practically beg.

Fetish stores usually have some nice belts that are made a good deal better than Victoria Secret or Fredericks. Ebay is a great place to find an old vintage garter belt...most of the older stuff is well made and featured the metal tabs. Some of the newer ones on Ebay are good too......just shop around. .........Glad to have helped some!!

I agree with Plantlady....PANTIES ! Especially if they match the Garter Belt. What a nice combination. I will always go for that ! Now if I can get this last Garter clip to hold, BalletBob

i have a beautiful vintage girdle and garter belt from this store the clips are metal, and are the gator clips that have the flat metal piece over the top, and are not the key hole style you find in victoria's secret, etc. i would not be caught dead wearing any lingerie that was not vintage in style, especially garter belts and nylon full fashioned stockings! this one that i have has 5 garters on each side, and my seams are always perfectly straight every time![:D] [image]local://upfiles/35456/555E7225446548D38281D98984B9782E.jpg[/image]

http://vickisnylons.com/ has wonderful garter belts. You can get them with up to 8 garters on each side. They have real, fully fashioned nylons, for those who care. AND they have cuban heels. Vintage lingerie galore! I've ordered several times and adore their products.

couldn't help you as i have trouble snapping them when i bend in them ...they are pretty , but what a pain in the neck.

Thank you all so much for your help, it is really nice to have a forum to bounce off ideas and the like with others. I appreciate all the ideas and will defin try them all. Garters are very sexy but i guess like eyebrow waxing they can be a pain...the things we do for others!
