Greetings..~smiles~

I was just reading some results from a Man study 2005 conducted by the Chicago ad agency Leo Burnett of 2000 Men in 13 countries.

Aside from the top 3 insults to Men listed..were the facts of Men feeling a new confusion and insecurity these days. Just over half stated their role in society was unclear, and 10% felt their role becoming less dominant.

The study authors blame it on the rise of feminism and empowered women in the workplace.

The question is..Do any of the Masters/Doms here identify with these survey findings?

Thankyou in advance

I think that the line has certainly become blurred, thanks mostly to the aggressive, extremist and almost militant women's rights movement. Sure they did good things for the women in your country, but they pushed the limits way too far. Womyn? What the hell is a womyn? Postperson? Policeperson? How about a policing type unit? Sounds just about as good.

I do not believe that aggressive women's rights movements have any pull when it comes to My own role in society. I still have the same role. I just now share the greatest majority of it with someone else. It does not hurt My feelings any. I like that My girlfriend goes to work and contributes to the expenses.

Less dominant? I do not know about that one. I do not feel less dominant. I dominate those around Me naturally without thinking about it. I think when you get those in your face women that need to be put over someone's knee and given a good spanking it might be a little intimidating. It depends what type of character you are, whether you can stand up to them or not. I look for other ways of dominating in a subtle manner without them picking up on it. That's fun. [:)]

There are some feminists who have taken the cause too far. There are always people who take causes to an extreme. Personally i think these feminists lose credibility with their extremism. If these men (dominant or otherwise) allow extremists to determine their perspective on self and their role in society, they deserve every bit of it.

What were the three insults?

See the thread "50s lifestyle". I posted something there that might be of interest here.

There's no doubt that society is changing. I really never cared much for culture and relgion that dictates what Men and Women have to do. The traditions of people are interesting when it comes to gender roles. In the work force, it's great to see everyone having the opprotunity to be managers, supervisors, and employers.

As for me, I have not confusion of or insecurity with the issues of women becoming preachers, bosses, or even a president. Those are job roles and not gender roles. I could care less what the damn study says.

It's interesting how the bible says that Women dressing as Men is an abonination. After all, when the scripture was written it was the men who wore the skirts. So where does the old fashionism come form old folk who think that women should stay in skirts and dress and men should be the only ones who can wear jeans?

Being a little old fashion I always open the door for a lady, stand up when a lady needs to leave, pay or offer to pay meals depending on the circumstances of the meeting, and generaly be polite untill an offensive action is first given to me.

Yes Hormones and Fermones may always get the best of us now and then but for the most part I just like to look at people as people.

I could say a few things about the issue of women being in the military for arms/combat missions but I'll see what others have to say about the study you presented to us first and see where things go from there. After all, I perfer not to derail or change the topic on your thread.

If and when we end up seeing two women running for president, how many decide who to vote for based on breast size?

Read the Gor forums, you'll find all of the supporting and dissenting opinions you need.

It is unfortunate that women becoming self sufficient somehow feels to them like we're taking a knife to their balls, but hey, if they're unfit to survive in their current climate, it behooves them to learn and redefine their roles to better fit the needs of partnerships today...
I personally don't know many women who would reject a man who was supportive, protective, and caring of his lady/family, but I'm guessing that in order for the bitching men in the study to feel happier, their women need to be barefoot, and completely unable to stand on her own?? JMHO. M

The greatest insult to a man, according to those surveyed, is that “he’ll never amount to anything” (29 percent), followed by “everyone laughs behind your back” (24 percent) and “you’re stupid” (21 percent).

This giving the assumption that Men are more sensitive than given credit for is the jest.

As with any study or poll, the results are compiled and based on a predetermined group of people....

and therefore statistics and polls are often wrong as that those whose answers were compiled are only a small percentage of the population.

On another note, as to the jabs at post-modern feminism, and the more widely known grassroots feminism of the 60's and 70's (think Feminazis)

these views don't change the fact of the matter being that without the steps, measures, what have you that these "evil, ballbusting bitches" worked to get in place are things that we ALL (male, female and everything inbetween) take advantage of.

And concerning the study on men feeling inferior or less dominant....

i would have to say that the only reason that such feelings or conditions exist, is that these men have allowed them to within their own lives.
