In the spirit of the coming Holidays what are some of the wishes Y/you have for Y/yourself or others? I'm not a big fan of the singular and all-powerful"New Year Resolutions' any time I've made a decloration of one kind or another I just set myself up for failure. Of course I want to lose weight and initaite world peace *ss* and write a best selling novel, but those are things I have to motivate myself to do all year round not just for one day. But I do love to dream and fantasize about all the new and naughty things I can do and learn throughout the year[:D]

I've been lucky enough to have many wishes I didn't even know I had fulfilled this year when Knight of Mists and His two girls alandra and kyra welcomed myself and my husband into their lives. Bruises never looked so beautiful *G*

Let's see. Good health, good friends, safe travel and the love of a good woman or man to make them feel whole. I would wish for the end of fanaticism so that the people of this world could feel safe in their own homes again. I would wish for understanding and communication so that people could cross borders and visit each other for fun and interest not for war. Most of all I think I would wish for all of the single lonely people in the world to find the one person they need to make them complete and that they live and love together for a very long time.

Oh yeah, and for me, I'd like a new Beechcraft Bonanza to replace my old bird (an A-36 please) with the 300 Hp fuel injected Continental engine and a 'full-up' glass cockpit, custom paint job and enough money to fly it whenever and wherever I pleased.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 5:56:18 AM)

Oh mostly good health. My mom and aunt are both going through cancer treatments right now and I always want my loved ones to stick around for me :)

Also good choices and togetherness.

To always see the smile on my daughters face

veronicaofML -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 7:18:51 AM)

what are some of the wishes you have for yourself
=======

in all seriousness.....i live a simple life w/o a list of needs and wants. if i have a roof over my head vs sleeping in my van, i'm doing ok.
if i have warm dry feet, warm belly, and a warm bed...i am fairly happy.
i do not own anything really --in material goods, nor do i want to anymore.
no vcr's, no cd player, no tv, no furniture, --no guy toys...nothing!!!!!!!!!!
i have a few odd clothes i can get in 2 drawers...a few vhs movies..from when i tried to start my own library..(tried anyway)-------

new year's resolutions...?????
naw.

i am fairly satisfied.. i have Mistress, Her 2 dogs-which have "adopted" me,...
i have no "wishes"..........for anything.......

but thanks for asking......

happy holidays to you n yours from me n mine

The Holidays can be a wonderful time to share the closeness between family and friends, but for some it can be a heartbreaking time of lonliness and dispair.

I think what we need to do is to focus on the sprit of the Holiday season, rather than the hectic chasing around to buy gifts and nearly running people over in parking lots. Whether one is religious, spiritual, or not.

We all need to reflect upon this time of year as an opportunity to be a little bit nicer to others.

Just my $ 0.02 worth.

KatyLied -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 8:19:15 AM)

I want to find myself in a place of more settled emotions. I want to find the magic wand that will solve everything! (joking, really)
I want my family safe, healthy and happy.

No resolutions, I resolve not to make New Year's Resolutions.

I wish for rewarding, fulfilling relationships with my husband/master, my family, and my friends. I wish for health for my unborn baby, a natural healthy birth, and for Ty and I to be the best parents we can possibly be. I wish for health for my Mom and Granddad. I wish good luck and success for Ty going back to school in the fall. I wish for love, health, and happiness for all those that I care about. On the selfish side, I wish for a house. I'd really like to move out of this apartment. It also wouldn't hurt to get some new toys. [;)]

MHOO314 -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 10:48:49 AM)

We strive everyday in My home to be thankful for our blessings, ( we don't make NY resolutions)--but we do reflect at this time of year---this time bittersweet with the loss of My mom-- and a milestone age for one in My home--the coming year, to continue to hear that special laughter--before it is gone and on its own--to start to find love and the one---to stay healthy and gain in simple wisdom---

and to get My forum rites back!!!!

sub4hire -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 1:13:17 PM)

My goal this Christmas is for my father to have his family around him. For it to be a Christmas to remember. One we will look back on with great fondness.
I don't believe he will make it another Christmas, I'm usually right when it comes to such things. So, I want the last to be perfect for him.

I'd love to see Aids cured amoung many other diseases. Cancer would be a good one.
I'd like to see everyone in the United States warm and never going hungry again.
Of course these are all wishes...the only one I can make come true is the first.

Sensualips -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 1:22:53 PM)

I wish to make it through a full day with my parents and not have the overwhelming urge to stab someone in eye with a fork.

I also wish my sister health as she is also undergoing cancer treatment, especially because I become guardian of her three unmentionables if she dies.

I wish for rainbows, puppy kisses, and pixie dust. And chocolate.

siamsa24 -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 1:43:53 PM)

I wish for unfailing Christmas spirit during the week of Christmas. I have been feeling more and more resentful of Christmas over the past week or two and I have a feeling it is only going to get worse. I hate that I am being forced to spend Christmas away from my family and friends just so that my place of employment can brag about being open on all the holidays. I have the pleasure of working 9 hour shifts on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and with my hour drive each way that's a lot of time away from my family.
I hope and wish for the ability to stay cheerful and pleasent towards people and not to take my anger and frustration out on my customers and co-workers.

denika -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 2:24:57 PM)

I understand your frustration about working, I'll be spending the holidays with my co-worker as well. Lucky for me I don't deal with customers but for thse who know what I do will understand when I say one of my wishes is to not hear a single, panicked voice on the three days I will at work. My happy thoughts are knowing I will be spending the evenings with those I love and cherise.

Friends,family,life,health and happiness. Sometimes the basics are the best things. My heart goes to all of Y/you struggling through the holdiays with ill loved ones. The best medicine is laughter and sometimes the simplest gesture, even just holding a hand can be better than any high priced bauble.

best wishes for all Y/your days

siamsa24 -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 2:42:25 PM)

At least I'm not the only one.

And just a little side note folks, if you do choose to go out shopping on the holidays, please be kind to the workers and cut them some slack. And for the love of everything that is holy please do not say something like "Oh, it's such a shame that you have to work on the holiday" because that really makes us want to slap you. Really. Believe me, we would much rather be at home with our loved ones, and if people didn't shop on the holidays we would be sitting in front of the fireplace, opening gifts and drinking egg nog, but instead, people choose to shop so we have to work. If no one shopped the incentive to keep the stores open would be gone and we could be at home. So please don't comment about how horrible it is that we have to work on the holidays if you have to shop, because you are the cause of us having to work.

aurora31 -> RE: The Holiday's (12/14/2005 3:11:20 PM)
