I strongly advise you get involved in your local scene to some degree. To find local goings-on, google your area + munch + BDSM.
A problem with newbies is that a lot are posers or just downright so unsure that they are typically the ones that are no-shows or disappear when it comes down to actually meeting a domme. However, if you have a couple munches under your belt, that "proves" to a potential Domme that you are interested enough in all of this to get off your computer and do something tangible. It also opens up opportunities to meet others, make friends, and possibly find a domme that is comfortably local to you.
