so should the writers, producers, editors, sound man, director, script editor, sound bite technician and anyone else who played a part in getting those minutes of misplaced comedy broadcast.

You mean they had a script? I knew my licence fee was being spent well on such excellent minds that could come up with such intellectual comedy.

If someone rang up your grandparents to tell them they were fucking you and you were easy, would you find it funny?

can't asnwer that question as mine all died before I was born ... I imagine from what anecdotal evidence I have of them ... my Grandfather would have arranged for them to be shot .. and my Grandmother would have started getting excited about a (shotgun) wedding ... failing that .. they would have hung up the phone like anyone else getting an obviously prank call from a known numpty.

.. and yes they will have had script writers, and someone with them taping the call, and someone who edited the call, and someone who prepped it for broadcast, and those people will all have superiors as well.

So rather than just baying for the hosts' blood .. how about also looking at someone who has a contractural obligation to protect the fee paying public from obscenity rather than someone who has been contracted to work for the BBC exactly because of their obscene puerile approach to comedy

Well, seeing as this 'aspiring actress/model' has 'given up her tour' with her performance troop to come home and is in negociations with various newspapers to sell her 'exclusive'story, I doubt she is going to lose out with all the lovely publicity shes having.
I cannot fathom why she can get away with it, when brand and ross have to suffer.

So you believe it is all cool that she earns money selling her story about her sexual exploits with brand and just add insult to injury to her grandfather?

I am not keeping up on the minutae of the relationship of Brand and Sach's grandaughter but I say that if they had a sexual relationship then that is a private matter.

Only a manic attention seeker would behave as Brand did.
To quote Ricki Lake...kick 'em (Brand and Ross) to the kerb.
Lets get some standards back into entertainment and broadcasting in general.

I can, and do, visit the local Pub and hear loud  foul mouthed morons any time I wish.

Am I alone in thinking that the two most self satisfied overpaid talentless brats the BBC have ever spawned have sunk to a new level of peurile behaviour in ringing up elderly actors to brag about having screwed their Grandaughters and recording it live on air?

Except it wasn't live, it was pre-recorded and someone is supposed to have vetted it before it went to air.

And I thought only the U.S. had obnoxious, stunted adolesencent radio and show hosts.

Hell NO!  Britain has Jeremy Kyle a downmarket rip-off of Jerry Springer.

The sound man?
Neither he or Thompson is at fault here.
Punters are over reacting, but over is the only reaction being sought, nobody has been asked 'do you find this a bit naff?' A formulaic and arse crawling frontman and a gonzo comedian ner nering at an ancient comic actor. The toothsome ex heroin addict has slept with the burlesque dancing grand daughter of the ancient actor and makes ever more peurile comments. Finally he resigns, with some elegance, which is the only elegant moment he has had throughout.
Now the burlesque dancer sells her story (which Brand has done in the past) as that is par for the course if you are making your way as a below c rated slebridy.
Will this be the end of Rosso? I would certainly miss his rehashed film reviews. I have stopped watching his show as the continual fawning to Film stars and rehearsed swearing palls.
If I can get some beans from softness, I might then have a shit to give about this.

I used to like Ross, I thought his presentations pretty good, but went off him with his friday night show, which is repeated again over the weekend as though the beeb  think we must see his show at all costs. What he got upto, is not really that much of a surprise as I had thought his almost god like status would push him to new levels at some point or other, not my kind of entertainment.

Brand, I never really had much of an oppinion about, as I had not seen much of his 'performance'. Tv to me is something that has become background noise only as watching it is a waste of time. I say this, as I have a tv with a mind of it's own, it randomly switches itself off and then on again at some point later, a knackered tv, but it has taught me to occupy my mind with other things. Replacing the tv is not a high priority at the moment, more so due to the lack of my kind of programming being aired. I aim to wait until it goes digital in the uk, then perhaps I can access what I do like to watch.

You can now get a digital tv, broadband and phone package for less than the individual component parts.
I think you can check this at uswitch and similar sites.
