ROVER got it right. You may well have sleep apnea (it is NOT only found in overweight persons, but the combo of overweight, over 40, diabetic and snoring is a near sure prescription). You also could have one of the several neuro-muscular disorders known as "RLS" or restless leg syndrome. The key is a sleep study, performed in a sleep center overnight. I know you mentioned that money was tight -- do you have any insurance available at all? A sleep study is billed at about $4000, with interpretations (the actual reimbursement is of course much less). If you can't get it done on insurance, you might look at local university med schools. Apnea, and the related complex of sleep disorders, is the "polio" of our time -- pervasive, deadly and just now being studied. It is insidious. You need to get checked out. E.

"When you wake up, Pooh," said Piglet, "what's the first thing you say?" "What's for breakfast? What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.
