The love affair with anti-intellectualism has always baffled me.

Bush taking office should have taught a few folks that the average Joe isn`t the best fit for president of the United States.

But this is what comes with anti-intelectualism,a race to the bottom

Why is it that liberals think that everyone gets their information and does their research from the same sources they use, like Drudge links, for example.  As far as reading some "actual journalism"...please...I beg you...give us some ideas where to go for this "journalism".  Do you define "journalism" as editorial comment from The Boston Globe, for example?  Certiainly you wouldn't be suggesting The New York Times, The Nation, Daily Kos...MSNBC.Com or CNN.Com?

Well... if you want a list

Excellent Journalism:
Christian Science Monitor is a great paper (well not paper anymore....boo hoo but still online), excellent journalism
The Economist is a great magazine (if a bit pricey)
BBC
Der Spiegel
The New Statesman
New York Times

Now if I am going onto a site which is primarily blogging or linking to other articles , or for fun stuff or entertainment(like the Huffington Post), I really like to make sure their stories link into articles supported by Reuters or AP.

Politico is not bad, nor is Salon, both of these sites have some very well credentialed journalists who contribute.

How can any of these can be any good, since Drudge links to them all...

You might want to try again.

Look, even a broken clock gets it right twice a day.

That's my list and I'm stickin' to it!

But really Sanity, why are you so bitter and acidic?  I do not know if I have ever seen anything positive come out of your mouth (computer), unless there is something right after it to bring down someone, or something else in the process... sort of like a gigantic gloat/wank.  It's got to be awful to see the world through eyes that only see things to scorn or throw (debatable) sarcasm at.

Want a cookie?

Have a look in the mirror, I feel as though you must be literally projecting on me. You living in a glass house that way, puella. Bitterly attacking people in every post of yours that I see, attacking me in this very one in fact. That's why I normally don't even read your posts, your posts are way too caustic, predictable, and devoid of any serious discussion of the facts

"Why is it that liberals think that everyone gets their information and does their research from the same sources they use, like Drudge links, for example."

Great question.

B/c they meet in person and by tela-conference every Wednesday morning to coordinate the conservative talking points,in Grover Norquists office.

The right-wing radio/TV people, white house,Fox News reps, etc. get on the same page and drive/repeat the same messages. Not always getting traction, but many many times, working with great success.

It`s refered to as the "right wing echo chamber" because if you take clips from each personality and run them together, they almost match word for word.On a lucky day,the same lines leak out into the main-stream media and get repeated.Bonus points!lol

This is something the Daily Show will do occationally. It`s absolutly hilarious to see different people saying the exactly the same things, verbatum.

Often it`s a catch phrase or words/names,like Socialist,"they`re measure`n for drapes" or any number of ideas or remarks that push people`s buttons.

And this doesn`t even get into the dark-underbelly stuff that NewsMax ,G Gordon Liddy and Ann Coulter.

Conservatives often talk about a liberal media conspiracy, imagining "they" craft a liberal message and disperse it or ignore other stories to advance the liberal agenda. It`s almost a conservative mantra.

Well, the Wednesday Morning meeting is nothing less than a right-wing media conspiracy. That is if the definition of conspiracy is still the same.

Wonderful clip on the news tonight here - McCain holding a rally, telling everyone that Joe was there and asking Joe to stand up.

Except Joe wasnt there.

Cue an embarassed moment for McCain who insisted Joe had told him he would be there, but then continued with the point he was going to make, stating that everyone there was Joe for the purpose of that point.

Honestly, this is becoming absurd.

Really BBNC?

I had sort of hoped that Joe had maybe grown some sense and withdrawn himself from the debacle altogether, but that no one had thought to inform McCain.

But either way its funny - and as I said, absurd.

Hi Lady E

I am not sure if they reported this over there, but probably rather sadly... He was there with a croud of 6,000 people... 4,000 of which he had bussed in from all the schools in the district... eek!

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/10/30/1616435.aspx

Sometimes I feel bad for John McCain... then I turn the volume back on I remember why that might not be the proper feelings to have.

But yeah, apparantly Joe was busy working on his book deal, his country music contract, talking to his newly hired publicist and starting his campaign for congress... sorry John, Joe's movin' on!

Well I for one feel sorry for McCain I have to say; he is losing in a way which is unbecoming to someone of his years and supposed stature. But thats only if I think its not deliberate.

Hello again, Lady E!

I am not trying to be combative, I just am not sure what you mean in the part I highlighted?  Do you think he is losing 'in a way' unbecoming because of his actions/words or because of mistreatment by others?
