I have seen these in videos before but never in person or on a store shelf(online or local)
im looking to buy a mdium or large (1.5-2.25" diameter) butt plug that is clear.
not interested in glass due to cost, weight, and temperature.
anyone know where i can get these clear plugs from?
thanks

I've always heard No.

depends on what type of sanitation method and what type of jelly.  food jelly - well to quote a favorite TV Personality of mine "That's a different show."  Silicone toys and other "jelly" toys can be fairly easy to sanitize, but, of course, if you're using it with multiple partners, some saran or a condom would just make it worlds easier.

Not all glass toys are heavy or expensive. I got a nice glass dildo for 22 dollars, and I've seen butt plugs for about 40 on some sites. And tempeture, can be controlled, you can warm it before play.

Or you can chill it. but I find the toys already pretty chilly since we live in a garage.

you should avoid jelly toys cause the plastisizers used in them off gas and are considered very bad for you, plus lots of people * including me* are sensitive to jelly and get really BAD burning sensations from use of the toy touching our genitals.

I had a jelly toy that hit the trash only days after I got it.  Not only did anything and everything stick to it even after it was thoroughly washed, but I found that I was allergic.  Immediate burning sensation.  Just say no.

I've seen some glass butt plugs for less than $15; the prices aren't nearly as high on glass items as they used to be.
Next, I'd recommend silicone as it doesn't reek with that horrendous chemical smell and can be sanitized, as can glass.
Acrylic is another option.
If you go with the lower end pieces (jelly and other materials), you're going to get that crummy odor and the odor is pthalates (Not sure I am giving you the correct term there; they're nasty chemicals) leeching out of the item.  These deteriorate more quickly than the afore-mentioned and may be somewhat toxic or sensitivity-causing.  They're commonly available in your local adult toy shop and from on-line vendors.
Invest a little more now in the higher end stuff; it's worth it.

see i figured sanitation might be an issue. the word "jelly" when applied to something like that just makes me freak out =p haha

another concern.

Hi, RainyDayNE----
Some folks use condoms over their toys to assist with the potential sanitation issue.  If it's being used on multiple people, unless they're fluid-bonded and/or certain about std status and in a closed relationship, I'd be twitchey.
Glass and silicone: boilable and you can also put them in the dishwasher.  :>

Just on the issue of allergies, i had a jelly plug and for a while everything was great.  Then came the day that it burned when i used it and now i have become allergic to latex condoms too!  i am pretty sure that one is related to the other....so be warned....[sm=alarm.gif][sm=alarm.gif][sm=alarm.gif]

If you get a jelly toy... make sure it has a non-jelly covering, like the one linked to above.

Otherwise... not a good idea. It's a better idea to get a toy that's silicon or some other material but flexible (since I assume flexibility is why you're looking for a jelly toy in the first place)
