The thing I don't understand in this Acorn debate is the idea that the fraudulently registered will necessarily be voting Obama. Therefore we can’t say it makes any difference at the end of the day and is all about personal opinion.

I find your post itself to be disgustingly racist.

But as a complete aside can you imagine being a black person of a certain age...maybe old enough to have experienced the civil rights movement,or perhaps hearing of same at your fathers knee, wouldn't this be a joyful and triumphant moment for you.

Like this gentleman perhaps?

I was being facetious about ACRON...they try to empower lower income voters...which by their very nature will mostly vote Democratic.

Every election the Republicans roll out the “ACRON” registering voter mistakes as scare tactics…even thought republican registering drives in rural areas have the same mistakes.

A lot of this racist "chatter" is not bothering me, because if it was not for the
support of White, Asian, Hispanic and people of all races, Barack Obama
would NOT be where he is today!!!!

Maybe we're not as racist as people thought we were.

My thought exactly.  He wouldn't have come this far in the election standing where he is today.   Which is why I'm surprised that those who are voting McCain are automatically assumed to be choosing from a place of racial bias.

You have hit the nail on the head.
Senator Obama is supported by so many because of
the person that he is.
Let the American citizens DECIDE who they want as their next
President!
Let the best candidate win!

Bold Emphasis Mine...
Thank you for writing that!  I am not voting for McCain.  I am not voting for Obama.  Race on either side of the party lines has nothing to do with My choice.

I voted for the human being I felt was best for the job. Gender or race played no part in that at all.

It was an easy choice for me.

And that's the only way all of us should vote, no question about it!

I'm going to vote for Obama, but I really don't see it as a racial issue.  I think he's the better choice.  If McCain were black, I still wouldn't be voting for him.

I'm with LaM on this. I don't accept the social construct of "race" anyway, so that is a non-issue for me. Obama is simply the better choice.

McCain is just so erratically whacked out, that I wouldn't trust him to deliver a Valentine card. He'd stop mid-delivery and proclaim he was going to DC to save the banking system. Then, when he got there, he'd find that the country moved ahead without him, so he'd clap himself on the back for saving the US and go back to Fox news telling the world how he was, once again, a superhero POW.

MzMia, I have to admit....much as I oppose McCain (and yuck-o to Palin's) positions on the issues...it really is a special treat to be able to vote for an African-American as President.  To think it's only been 40 years since the Voting Rights Act was passed....it is amazing how far this country has come.  We do a great deal of complaining here about the US, and rightly so, but this is a moment of accomplishment for us we can all take pride in...whether we vote for him or not.

I lost heart when Lieberman was not nominated in 2004.....but I feel better now.  I just wonder if all marginalized people have made the same strides that African-American men have made with Obama's candidacy.

I think a lot of people aren't voting for Obama as much as they are voting against McCain.
McCain is identified with W. and lord knows a great many of us are turned off by anybody who they perceive as allied to Bush.
Additionally at 72 McCain would be the oldest entering president, which brings up worries of him finishing his term. And if he couldn't finish his term, the idea of Palin becoming president is appalling.
