What I'm curious about is it's construction. The article describes it as looking like a tampon. That brings up a few questions. Why couldn't a rapist just pull the thing out by the string? Is the device strong enough to withstand a forcible removal without coming apart inside a woman? Wouldn't it defeat the purpose of the device if the barbs rend the flesh of her vaginal wall as the unit is literally torn from her body? AIDS and a few other STDs are passed through the blood. Considering that, would you really want a strangers bleeding cock inside you? Are these things reusable, or disposable. If they are reusable, then what problems might arise from toxicology, improper cleaning of the device, etc.. Sure, the manufacturers say it's safe, but they say that about a lot of things that later turn out to be unsafe. Look at the IUD, phen phen, etc.. Have these things been tested on human beings? If so, wouldn't the testing process itself be illegal? If not, how does anyone know if the thing even works? Food for thought... -SD-
