The funny thing is, I always thought of Star Wars as more mainstream than other sci-fi movies and series.  There are many people (myself included) who LOVE Star Wars, but couldn't tell you a single thing about any other sci-fi movie.  I think it just makes a lot of people think of their childhood- seeing the movies for the first time in theaters.

But this whole thread got me thinking of other movie scenes that I love.  What about Goonies, where they are all on the pirate ship and Andi is tied up and forced to walk the plank?   *sigh* I wish that was me

You needed her with a strange hair-do to compete for attention with all the other sci-fi freakiness going on, light sabers and aliens playing musical instruments.  The fact remains, she still stands out to this day because people don't normally put their hair into food type arrangements.....
