O, how it must suck to be a Cleveland Dem these days.  Most (many) are rabid Catholics and racism is rampant here....so what'll they do on Tuesday next?

Wonder how the priests will be telling people to vote on Sunday?

Anyone else think their community's confused?

P.S.  I'm a disgruntled transplant to Cleveland who hasn't set foot in a Catholic church in quite awhile, and who finds racism repugnant....and I'll be voting for Obama....but I'd lay odds my religious nutter family who droned on and on about Gore in 2000 will be voting Republican in this election.....and for 'religious' and racial reasons.

If you don't go to your local parish church, then how do you know the priest is a racist?

Nooo, sorry, lol.  Did not mean to imply the priest in the parish here is a racist...likely he's a very fine man.  I meant 'racism is rampant in my community'.  (O, and that my nutter family is plagued with it in some cases.)

That's all.

Though they might do it, churches aren't supposed to "tell people whom to vote for" if they want to keep their tax status intact.

I said, "Though they might do it" remember...

It's been on the news a lot around here about places of worship risking their tax exempt status if the person at the pulpit talks politics in that way.  Most don't want to risk it, but of course the things that people of a religious nature find important to them are going to sway the way they vote.  But that's pretty much the same for anyone.

I'm Protestant and have no real opinion about Catholics that I'm willing to share here, that's why I used "places of worship" in general terms to encompass all religious persuasions.
