Status: offline 		Hey, i'm wondering what combinations of Dom/sub there are and how common they are. i imagined most relationships were like ours, i'm the sub in a straight relationship with my Husband, but in reading messages over the last few days it seems like there are all sorts of combinations with the female often the Dom which seems pretty strange to me, but then i am a sub so i would see it that way!

One's orientation is not dependent upon one's gender/sex. Many males are submissive, many females are dominant, many of both are switches.

Status: offline 		So a switch is someone who can be either? How is that possible? as a happy slave myself, i cannot imagine suddenly being a Master.

How is being bisexual possible?

Some people are heterosexual, some are homosexual and some are bisexual.

Some people are dominant in orientation, some are submissive and some are switch.

There's a whole forum here all about topics on switching.

Status: offline 		A switch is not necessarily a 'Master~Dominant/slave'. A top is not necessarily a 'Master~Dominant'. In that line of reasoning a Dominant is not necessarily a 'Master' and a slave is not always a bottom..etc etc

Please don't confuse Master with Dominant and Slave with Sub. You can be a Dom and not be a Master. You can also be a Sub and not a Slave. There are Doms and Subs out there that 'switch' and can be either one. That is probably not very common for true Masters and Slaves though.

Yup like me. I used to be sub to an alpha male. I have been Domme to 3 boys over the last couple years. Each relationship has it's own merits that determine which side of the coin I'm on. See some of the threads in Switch forum for further explainations.

It's just as common in masters and slaves as it is in doms and subs orientations.

Status: offline 		There are probably as many combinations as there are people in/out of the "lifestyle". Since no 2 people are alike, i'd say the same applies to couples. It's what makes WIITWD so exciting and so darn frustrating... thank goodness..lol
