I didn't want to hijack someone's thread to ask this. I did a quick search but most of what I saw was either suggestions about or comments regarding wet dreams. Nothing really pertaining to causes. I know they happen as a result of being without orgasm for a long time, but that's where it ends. Is there a certain length of time? Is there anything that factors into bringing them about? Is it all just completely random?

Womens wet dreams.. at least for me.. have proven very few and far between But, yeah, i can kinda understand the wistfulness You seem to show for the wet dream.. kinda sucks that they don't happen more often for both sexes. For me, i have had, ooh.. prob three full and completed wet dreams.. and maybe 2 that woke me up before it really got far enough along in the process... if you know what i mean.. which really SUCKED... i soooo miss the dark and Mysterious Lover of my dreams... mmm He sure knows how to be the ideal lover. What better then an efortless Orgasm.. then wet dreams!?.. i want MORE!

Hahaha, indeed. I've had 2 or 3 but only one ended in the full, body-wrenching, mind-blowing orgasm. I just wondered, maybe I can get my subbie to that point. shrug I'll wait for more answers.

I have about one per month. For me it has nothing to do with not having orgasms during the day. It seems more attached to what gear my mind is in.

I heard a podcast that talked about wet dreams, and it said the opposite - that they are more likely to happen to someone with an active sex life rather than to someone denied. According to the sites I looked up about 90% of men and close to 40% of women have wet dreams - typically during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep periods, so they are more likely to happen when someone is well rested. There is no "average" number per year, but one every couple of months would not be unusual. You cannot force someone to have a wet dream - IF they dream of sex their body will become aroused.

Well, since women don't have sperm.. I agree ChamberQueen. It's when my life is sexual and erotic that I have wet dreams.

greetings Aall i have no idea why folks have wet dreams. i do know, however, that i've prolly had 10-12 total during my adult life (and at 50 that's been a long life [:(] ), ones that were completed and totally HawT. i've prolly had 6-8 that didn't finish. on a side note -- i did notice that when i tried to finish the orgasm myself - it was like i wasn't turned on in the first place and was masturbating from the beginning. i would have thought it should be like i was simply finishing an orgasm that was close to being completed, but it wasn't like that at all. well wishes, gemmie

As someone else remarked, it is the body's way of making room for fresh sperm. And it is not "long time between", men often will attribute their wet willie to the need to pee, when in fact is was a mini-ejaculation. The body produces a lot of sperm, volume depending on age.

The only times I've gotten wet dreams was when I abstained from any relief for months. I would get them once every few months between 8-13 (before I knew how to effectively masterbate) as well.

I have a thing for watching woman have wet dreams.... it just plain kicks ass what a girl will do in her sleep... hence... I sort of egg em on with very light touching when I know they are in a dream state... I love it! i've never had any amazing sex dreams to try and pin the cause on or stories to brag of how 'holy-shit wow' it was, nor have i felt anything other than embarrassed when i wake up. it's not as though there's an erection, an orgasm, or that i'm touching myself in anyway; it's nothing more than an instant random ejaculation while being unconscious and unable to feel it in the first place, no more pleasurable than pissing your pants and being unaware of it. to me, they're a simple nuisance and nothing more.

I hadn't been aware before I had one that women do, but I know I definitely do. Just not very often.

My sexy dreams relate to length of time between orgasm or sexual play. Thus, i have had way less in the past 2 years - yeah me!!! and Sir [:D] and there have been times when i would have shot the alarmclock if i had a camera.[:o]

Hrm, wet dreams, yummy. I get one every now and again. I am always by myself, I never remember what I was dreaming about, but I wake up all "whoa!" and get to curl up and sleep just a little bit more. It would be awesome if I had one when Daddy was over, I am sure he would have lots of fun with that. Evil fucker. [:D]
