This is my first post . I am one of the few that realy do read profiles. What gets me is the ones that hide thier profiles it is the one way to find out a little bit about a sub/slave. What would like to know is why someonne would hide the one way of finding out about the one we might pick to be ours.Is it because they dont want someone to find out a little bit about them. I would perfer that a sub/slave read my profile to find out if I am what they like. I know that there is some Masters/Owners atre very stricyt I am possibly the easest One out there.I do let a few things slide at least one time, but a second I will not. I would like A/anyones input on this.

If someone hides a profile it obviously means they don't want people looking at it. It might be because they aren't actually looking, or because they want to look for people more behind the scenes.

Like anything, people are going to do what they feel is best for themselves. Obviously those people who don't have profiles aren't going to attrach your attention.

My profile is deactivated because I need a break from the "characters" who have been invading my mailbox, yet I wish to maintain a presence on this site because I enjoy the boards and have met a few ppl here with whom I like to exchange email...I don't have as thick skin as some of my fellow subs/slaves here and feel I need to develop such b4 putting myself back out there...plus, I'm currently talking with a dom with real possibilities and do not want to be sidetracked with feeling obligated to respond to various and sundry emails.

Other ppl have other reasons for sure. But thanx for asking b4 assuming.

BTW, just b/c a profile is "hidden" in some way, does not necessarily mean a sub is out-of-circualtion, even tho most likely it does. You can still send an email to a deactivated profile and make a gentle inquiry. I'm certain any willing sub who receives a pleasant email will respond in kind.

Good luck in your search.

I don't think it's unusual to deactivate a profile. The people who do so probably have good reasons.
It's a good way to cut down on the nonsense and cyber b.s. when you aren't in the frame of mind to deal with it.

I deactivate my profile when I make major changes to it or when I just need a break. I can understand your frustration, though, because I like jumping back and forth to read profiles of posters here on the boards and am disappointed when I find nothing over there to read.

i do the same thing, when i've major changes to do to it, or just to stop the incessant players who inundate my mail with scores of emails a day. sometimes i just need a break to stop and think, but i do usually maintain a presence on the boards.

perhaps the profile is hidden because it is really hard to read......

"H/hey I/i A/am R/really E/easy T/to G/get A/along W/with" (took me about a minute to write this)

I don't think that that is either easy to read........or easy to reply to......and also since no one talks like that in real life............(insert witty comment of your own chosing to finish the sentence)

cheers and good luck

That's what it means for me. i Deactivated my Profile because i am not "looking" ~ at least not through a personals site before. i was finding the Personals side of this site didn't work for me.

However, i found i loved the forums here on Collarme (and especially reading your words - it amazes me that you are biologically younger than me and have so much wisdom - i'm in genuine awe of you)! i love the discussions (even when i don't respond and just read them). .. so i wanted to stay here.. and sort of look... in a less direct way... i think even people with deactivated Profiles can send Messages here? i think. :) i think maybe no one can message me first.. but i can message others, i believe. And once i message someone i think they can message me back.

It's the same with me. I need a break, or am disenchanted, frustrated, confused, etc., and know that even if the most perfect Master entered my life at that point i wouldn't know it..lol. i'm sure there are other reasons, however...

cheers

For me, deactivating the account just allows me to keep the identity while i'm not actively using it.

i asked Master if i could please deactivate my profile kittyforMaster because W/we had decided to have a combined account. Having one account just worked better for U/us. Before i did that though, i took down my profile (but saved it on my computer so i wouldn't have to write it out again...it's a lot of work and i can be lazy) and wrote that i'd be "moving." Then i saved and transfered all the names on the favorites and admirers lists and added them to O/our current account so W/we wouldn't lose anybody.

i've deactivated for other reasons mentioned above though, too. Sometimes i feel particularly private and it's just good to have a break while Master...well, He never needs a break...lol!

OMG Marquisd...don't revive the A/anyone debate...blood flowed the last time W/we tried to discuss it, LOL.

BTW, being blonde, i don't know what a "hidden profile" is? Can someone explain?

You can "deactivate" your profile, so that you can still send/receive pm's and use the forum, but your profile is not out there for everyone to see. I think it's on the "update profile" page, near the top.
