MistressOfGa -> November Roll call (10/31/2008 10:03:19 PM)

OK, I am never the first one to start this thread, so I decided to start it! [:D]

I have several good things that have happened in the past couple of days. I found out I got approved to Leader Dogs and I will be going to Michigan on Jan. 3rd (Watch out F!) I will be spending my birthday away from home, but am really looking forward to going. The committee viewed my video tape I had sent in, regarding cane travel and decided I need additional cane travel training before I get my dog, however, after I complete the training, I will be eligible for a guide dog after one month. It all depends on me whether I can stand the cold for a month in Michigan as to whether I will be coming back in March. I'm thinking April! lol
Geoff will be getting his teaching certificate on Nov. 7th, so he is very happy to finally be doing what he enjoys so much (Besides music!).

My brother who lives in Alaska, has asked us to spend Christmas with him and his family. So, it looks like we will have a Christmas in Alaska this year. Which is really a topic for the December roll call, but since we just found out, I figured I will share that news too.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

i'm here...always here...like a bad dream that won't go away.

DelilahDeb -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 12:15:56 AM)

Lady Delilah Deb, smiling as I plot interesting times for a two-week visit from an out-of-town but regularly visiting sub. Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks. Two local regulars and an occasional visitor, and I may need to limit myself to occasional play partners this year.

Ebonybbw -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:03:49 AM)

Looking forward to November.  Visiting Boston for the first time Nov 8-16.  Excited about seeing the City and meeting new Subs and Slaves.

MsStarlett -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:09:13 AM)

I survived another Halloween.  Yippy.  Even with the economy in the crapper, the fact that the holiday fell on a weekend means that my sales were up almost 10 % over last year.   That's good.

Now for the clean up.  Oh Lord.  Do I HAVE to go to work today?

VampiresLair -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:42:06 AM)

I am turning over a new (and possibly hated) leaf at work and going back to being the domineering Head Photo Specialist I used to be. One of my technicians had a breakdown yesterday and told me that he feels like I am not providing any structure to the lab. He thought  that as head, and making more money, I should be laying down the law. Well, bucko, he is going to find out why they made me stop that the first time.... but he asked for it!

Fox and I are spending Thanksgiving his family in Waverly, and announcing the engagement to them that visit. My parents have to wait until February when I get there face to face, not the kind of news you want to deliver over the phone after all.

We are having a thanksgiving dinner for friends over at Angel and Silk's place in a few weeks. She has quite the guest list, but who knows who we will meet and who actually makes it.

And Fox gets to vote in his first ever election this year (feel old yet?) and did he get a good one to start on... whoa

MOGA Congrats on being accepted for Leader Dog! If you've not been up here it's a beautiful, well run facility. My german shepherd dog is from Leader Dog stock. Yes, January is cold, but they'll keep you plenty busy so you probably won't even think about it.

As for my November it started out in the can...was supposed to take a trip to Vegas today, but due to family health problems we had to cancel. Hopefully, there will be some good play opportunites for me in the next few weeks.

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 6:27:13 AM)

As usual, I'm busy with my university studies.  However, since I graduate in May (barring any horrendous problems), the end is in sight.  Woo hoo!  In related news, I continue working at the university publishing house and I currently want to kneecap the author whose manuscript I'm responsible for editing.  Here's a tip for would-be authors or even those who have been published before:  Edit your work.  This includes checking your facts!!!  I can't tell you how many problems I found in this MS.

The good news is that my girl's health issues have improved significantly.  She's almost finished with the chemo, is able to work again, and is scheduled to move here permanently after the election.  I also have a new puppy (the four-footed kind) who is the best dog ever.

Tiemetght,
Thank you! I have lived in Indpls. and Anchorage, so I am pretty familiar with cold weather, but I have lived in the south and in Phoenix for far too many years now. I will just have to weather it out (pun intended) lol

I'm sorry you couldn't take your trip as planned.
Welcome to the forums, I wish you well :)

ShiftedJewel -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 6:50:46 AM)

We had an awesome Halloween!! Got all decorated up, lots of lights and scary music... scared the hell out of larger then normal bunch of kids!! That's our goal! Then after the trick or treaters were done my daughter and her wife stayed to party and a few neighbors joined in and all in all it was great! Hubby was surrounded by womens!! The girls are still sleeping downstairs. I guess my daughter was drunk enough that she didn't notice that twice substituted vodka with water for her last 11 shots!! That's pretty messed up, isn't it? And it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend but unfortunately my sugar spiked last night so my feet are just screaming today. Oh well... shit happens.

Glad to hear the great news MoGa!!! And also sorry you have to work today MsS... I am sooo looking forward to Scooter retiring!! And DV? Just remember in a month or so to tell that guy to be careful what he wishes for next time... lmao!!

Ok... back to bed for me... I'm tired.

I'm suspecting folks won't see much of me this month. This will be my second year of NaNoWriMo where I'm working full-time on someone else's schedule, rather than freelancing. It just about killed me last year, but I'm determined.

Feel free to c-mail me if you want to 'proof and preview'. It is a space opera, so no grumble-and-kvetch about "this isn't realistic!" *laughs*

softpjOS -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 2:19:18 PM)

First congrats on the Leader Dog and i'll put in a request for a "warm" January in Michigan for You [:D]  Wondering if i should mention our definition of a "warm January" means any temps above -5.... lol  But after Christmas in Alaska, i'm sure our temps won't faze You a bit.

I am absolutely thrilled to see October go away!  What an awful month!!

The good news is they have decided to fix my car, not scrap it.  Yipppppie!!  Over $6,000 in damage from a 7 point buck.  Owwie!  The garage doing the work is known for working miracles so i'm extremely hopeful that it will be done right and back home soon.  I'll have my baby back [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Mistress and i are starting the month off with a quiet evening at home, just the two of us!!  A very rare treat and one i am all giddy about.  thus the excessive use of [:D][:D][:D]

off to pack a bag and get ready to spoil and pamper Mistress [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Well, I got out of Grand jury duty because of last week's surgical procedure
I'll have to take a test for My final grade in project management and then start the math course
My sister is coming up for Thanksgiving so I'll be home that holiday
I am FINALLY getting My federal student aide so I'll be able to pay off one of My larger bills

Bunch of other trivial stuff that would put everyone to sleep..

SoftpjOS,
Thank you for your request for warm weather lol actually, Alaska is a dry cold, so no, I will not be used to the cold. I understand that Michigan is like Indiana in the sense that it is a wet cold. Brrrrrrrrrr!! My KoKo says "You southerners do not know what cold is!" I do know what cold is, I just haven't been in it for a long time <s>

PanthersMom -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:01:42 PM)

ssdd here, still healing up after the surgery, took a turn for the worse as far as healing goes with the wrong medication, but hopefully i'll be back on track.  still busting ass to try to get a decent grade in all my classes, seems like this year is harder to get motivated.  maybe it's just brain fatigue, been thru so much over the past 16 months it's not funny.  i have the house to myself at the moment, it's quiet!  kids won't be back til sometime tomorrow evening, ahhhhh!!

MoGa i am thrilled to hear about the dog!  sounds like everyone is starting to make holiday plans and looking forward to next year.  i can't believe it's november already!  everyone hang tight and make the best of it, only a few more days until the election, lol!  you all take care of yourselves and have a great month!!  i'm back to art history, oh joy.

ShaktiSama -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:17:57 PM)

Finally starting to feel a little less overwhelmed and swamped after a very difficult 2 1/2 months.  There is now a slim possibility that I may survive my current workload and actually come out on top of everything this quarter.  And if I do, I intend to reward myself by doing something fun--Aidan and I will probably create some erotic photos this December to enter into this year's Seattle Erotic Art Festival.  [:D]

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 5:42:12 PM)

October had its ups and downs - from constant asthma attacks to covering a record number of 12 shows in a single month. i did make my first cable tv appearance and planning to do another one this week (if my voice returns in time for me to host it). also i had a close up with a "Mr. DeVille" in my friend's independent docu movie with my oldest last weekend. the month ended with a couple of trips to the ER for my oldest due a football injury and migrianes. also, my pet and i were busy looking at Vegas chapels and packages - so far we have narrowed it down 10. i'm looking forward to Thanksgiving for the first time in years - he's planning to spend it with my family.

LadyPact -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 6:13:28 PM)

MsS, I feel your pain over working today.  I brought Myself home after a very long Saturday, looking like a bottom who had participated in a resistance play scene.  I can only say that I am very grateful that the clocks go back tonight.  I can certainly use that extra hour of sleep.

I did make it to Dom Con last month.  I have to admit, I had a great time there.  I got to reconnect with so many people in the Atlanta area.  It was wonderful to have clip at My feet again.  After more than three months since I'd seen him, it was a great 10 days!  The bad part was taking him and returning from the airport.  Miserable story there, so I'll quit while I'm ahead.

The distressing thing that I have to report is that I was the victim of identity theft over the last month.  I'm still trying to sort that mess out.  Every time I think the business is finished, something new comes up.  The worst part about it is that I know who's done this, and I am ever so disappointed.

November I expect to be rather quiet with neither husband or sub at home.

stella41b -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 7:25:14 PM)

It's my debut here...

This month starts out with a couple of anniversaries. Three years ago on November 8 I came out publicly to the media in Poland as Stella and transgendered to the media in Poland and announced that I would be attending the Warsaw Equality Parade explaining that I made that decision in support of equal rights for Polish gays, lesbians and transfolk. November 11 I was removed from my position as artistic director of the theatre I formed in Zywiec Poland and the November 18 opening of my play 'Death' was cancelled. My downfall was spectacular.

This month, today it seems that it's all come good and I am preparing for my first season in London fringe theatre. Today I spent a couple of hours casting and starting a new production of my play 'Death'. For much of this year I have been working on my play with a BDSM theme known as 'Switch' and this is scheduled to open November 18 here in London with tentative plans to premiere the play at LAM (London Alternative Market).

Yesterday I was informed that the three partners - a homeless charity, the NHS and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are pleased with the development of my SLGBT support group in West London and have decided to expand the project and allocate more funds for events. This month I plan a buffet lunch for service users, we will also be having a meeting with Labour MP Peter Tatchell and hope to be visiting the London Fetish Fair. I also have to give a couple of talks in the borough about the importance of wider society becoming more accepting of the LGBT community as a realistic path towards diversity and an end to oppression and hostility towards each other in the community and in the workplace.

More charity projects are being developed working with the homeless and towards racial integration on the notorious Broadwater Farm estate in North London and later this month the theory behind my charity will be presented at a personal audience with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown who is meeting with Broadwater Farm community leaders.

I am joined by my partner in the theatre Mandy, who will be the head of our small production team and in charge of fundraising and administration. This is after a year's break and this is not just a partnership in theatre but also in the charity work and ... in a relationship.

All in all it's looking like a good month and stella is a happy bunny.

StrictnSaucy -> RE: November Roll call (11/1/2008 7:48:55 PM)

November will be interesting for me. I have reclaimed "our time" for me and mine. Looking forward to that. Business is changing direction and I am confident that it will be even more rewarding.  Graduating in Nov so looking forward to cap and gown and a night on the razz. Set myself a new personal goal - 3 sessions a week in gym and 2 in pool. Wish to start the new year on a happy, healthy buzz.
