I am more than a bit miffed that it is not on this weekend just because of the damned marathon... yeah thats fun to watch, hours and hours of people running (no pun intended).

I am not sure who they will get, but I hope it isn't Brokaw...I really am not a fan of his, in this chair.

Ifil might be good, also from PBS, I love Bill Moyers...

Any ideas??

I do like the freshness of Chuck Todd, but he hasnt been groomed for the stage. I used to see him on C-Span from time to time, but not saying anyting longer than 10 minutes.

Bill Moyers is all about economic equality, and in a center right country, Moyers overtly leans left alot to achieve the balance he desires. I do watch his show from time to time, and sometimes they nail their subject matter well, but other times they pander too much to the left. Like when they did their story on the foreclosure crisis, they just had to visit the blackest neighborhoods in Cleveland, rather than approach it from a suburbia problem. Rather than present the story in a colorblind fashion, they predicatbly blow it by dragging into the story some stereotype oppression angle.

No question in my mind...Brian Williams will probably be the host of MTP.  He has the stature and respect that the program requires of a host.
I like Chuck too, but he is primarily a pollster with a clear liberal bent. Brian Williams is also a lib..but, like Russert, I think he does at times try to bring balance into his interviews.  Chris Matthews is just too ideological, Keith Olbermann is ready for the "cookoo nest", and there is no one else with the maturity of Williams left on the payroll....
My second choice would be Sarah Palin if for some reason the McCain/Palin ticket should not win on Tuesday.  The ratings for the show would be historic highs.  [:)]
