I was just wondering how many people are into this type of life? Does anyone know some good websites or resources for such?

This seems to crack people up when I say it but what I am a looking for is a sort of I Love Lucy type of lifestyle. (without the zaniness)  If you watch the episodes closely there is quite a bit of domination there as well as several spanking scenes when Ricky has had enough.

Is it the same as a 1950 household?

It is, I guess, fairly close to that.

Yep, as another poster said go check out takeninhand.com

Note though that it is geared toward married couples, so take the information that is useful to you and toss away the rest.

Have fun. :-)

The typical "I Love Lucy" show as with others of the era like "My Three Sons" and Leave it to Beaver" are fairly typical 1950's Households. As souch they do depict Domestic Disclipline as do from the Victorian Perion such as "Sence and Sensibility" and other Jane Auston films. Essencially Domestic Disclipline is where often the male is the head of the home and he rules it with an iron hand. In the case of the Victorian Lifestyle, My wife who is both a dominant and the Lady of the Home make many decisions in accordance to guidelines I have set out and slaves collared to either us personally of to the home are seen and treated as "domestics" or "servants" and as such may be used for poleasure as well as carying out domestic duties. BDSM is not a part of such a home but may be an interesting add on doe the amusement of the Master and Mistress of the Home and or their guests. However I stress that such dynamics are service orientated and usually seek service slaves in the main in which sex may indeed have no or little part.

Damn.. I was always called Lucy and do have my Lucy Ricardo moments.  But if a Ricky decided to spank me... this little Lucy would not be on hands and knee's... but would have Ricky clearly in a bind... spanking that nice Ricky behind!  I like the idea... but just a bit of a role reversal.

Poorly posted, :)

I recall some discuss about this on the IMDB boards for the show Mad Men. Interesting, I will say that I think women attempted to take better care with their appearance back then and hey I'm not excluding myself from the pile of women that just sometimes look like Hell around the house.

So did the men...I find it fascinating that in photos from the 40s and 50s, people wore hats and got dressed up to go out in public. And they were expected to have manners that matched.

I don't agree with the Mad Men, 1950s-household mass oppression of women as a gender*, but  at least people tried to look nice in public instead of going around looking like slobs.

*note that I have no problem with this on an individual basis, if it's your kink

Edited for a spelling typo.

I agree, the lack of care in grooming has certainly gone down in years.  Sweatpants in public (and you are not sweating from gym class), tennis/running shoes (and you are not running), baseball hats (and not playing baseball and even worn backwards by grown men). lol

barf.

HOH is usually quite discreetly by those who actually have it down to an art.  Domestic Discipline is just that..at a DOMICILE, not on a public street.  I wish people would get that.

Domestic Discipline, Taken In Hand...

That would definitely be me.  Perosnally, I'm not much a lifestyler.  Rather someone who is comfortably dominant in a relationship.  (Monogamous, LTR)

Hello to a fellow Denverite.

In addition to the above links, you may want to check out Shadow Lane.  It's sort of like DD but with a large element of fun added in.

moonvine -> RE: Any Domestic Discipline folks on here? (11/2/2008 10:33:50 PM)

They also typically weren't working outside the house 40+ hours a week, as well as often doing most or all of the housework and child rearing.

Just sayin....

IronBear -> RE: Any Domestic Discipline folks on here? (11/2/2008 11:13:48 PM)

I grew up in what would vbe seen as an upper class 50's home because it was in the early 50's that I have my strongest childhood memories. (I was born 1945). Yet I am aware that our home was not the norm because it was also an aristocratic home which followed strictly the rules and protocols of the mid to late Victorian Era. This not withstanding, certainly people were far more conscious of their apperiance and were more house proud than most are today. Visiting was an event in which people took care to look their best even in fashionalable "Casual" wear (cravates were the mode in place of a tie). When receiving guests, every effort was made to ensure the home was spick and span as well as everyone was well presented and guests were welcomed. All this care showed not just a pride in ourselves but the respect and pleasure we have in our friends and guests (as demonstrated by taking the time to be well presented in their honour). This was not a class thing and as I remember there was little difference in the welcome a guest received no matter if her were a labourer, tradesman or a member of the aristocrasy. All were treated with the same respect and graciousness by my family and servants.I remember Mother commenting to me as a result of my questioning something, that you never knew if the person knocking on the door was a member of the family, a neighbour, a tradesman or even Her Magesty dropping in for a cup of tea (which did happen on two occasions), it was important to always be prepared.

I need someone to inflict some Domestic Discipline on my not motivated ass.  It definitely looks like a neat freak does NOT live here anymore.  I think she got fed up and quit.  I hope she comes back soon.  I can't find a clean shot glass.  [:(]

But seriously, domestic discipline?   I would be all about that.  I'm off to peruse those links mentioned previously.

leadership527 -> RE: Any Domestic Discipline folks on here? (11/3/2008 7:51:17 AM)

@Lasttry
I guess I would qualify, kind of.  Carol and I do a no limits authority transfer relationship without all the master/slave stuff tossed in which ends up looking a lot like DD.  I don't generally associate with the DD crowd though because of the rather EXTREME emphasis placed on corporal punishment there.  I find it disingenuous.  I personally find collarme to be a great reference... just ignore all the flowery elements and focus on the core authority transfer.  Again, as a mind excercise, what happens when you take a "normal" M/s relationship and then strip out all the protocol, kneeling, collars, leashes, references to "Master", etc. etc.  so that all that's left is someone making decisions and the other taking the lead?
