theobserver -> King & Queen of The Jungle - Dom/Femdom (11/3/2008 1:17:17 AM)

Hey everyone, I was reading through some of my old personal blog posts and thought I'd share something I wrote back in July. I thought it would be an interesting question to pose to the forum, since many of you are pretty experienced and well informed. Here goes ... So I looked up Merriam-Webster's definition of Dominant and Submissive. Here is the common theme in most definitions of the word, Dominant (as an adjective) it means: 1. exercising influence or control; 2. Most prominent, as in position; ascendant. 3. ruling, governing, or controlling; having or exerting authority or influence Here is the common theme in most definitions of the word, submissive: 1.inclined or ready to submit; unresistingly or humbly obedient 2. inclined or willing to submit to orders or wishes of others or showing such inclination 3. Inclined or ready to submit; acknowledging one's inferiority; yielding; obedient; humble. I thought it was interesting, to say the least. What do you see between the lines of these standard definitions? Is a male Dom superior over women or is a Femdom superior over men? Whose inferior, the individual that is submitting or the one that feels dominant over them? Is it that both male and female, Dom and sub are truly the superior and they are fighting for status as King or Queen of the jungle? Is that why both, Dom and sub (alike), like those who are more resistant to the roles?
