Congress had its lowest approval rating EVER (14%) and it was controlled by the Democrats with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as the leaders.
The Amercian sheeps have added to their flock...I guess we are going for single digit approval ratings in congress now.  So, so sad. We as a people have rewarded failure, ineptness and fraud.  What does that say about us?

What now?  We will go on as we always do.

I've said it before, and I'll repeat it now.

If Barack Obama wasn't *already* a 110% "Team Player" he wouldn't have been given Jack Ryan's Senate seat.

Watch how NOTHING CHANGES.

People voted with their emotions not their brains.  People wanted "change" and "hope"...they should have sought out their priests, rabii's or mulla's instead of politcian.  They could care less about the background of the man who was the nominee of the democrat party..it was just "no more Bush"... "change"...gimme a break.
Young people voted for him in droves...working people who see the economic weakness and vote for a party and a candidate that is anti-business!
We are just beginning a very difficult time for our country..both economically and politically, and we have a President Elect who is far to the left, and a Congress, as someone said, with almost a hat sized popularity.  People thought it would be business as usual in the 1930's...and freedom fell.  You don't inherit freedom...my family and your family probably fought in WW2, Korea, VietNam and Iraq....so that we could make stupid decisions ... but there was always a check...a balance.  America has lost that balance and if we don't watch and do our own "oversight" over our representatives, we may just wake up some morning to a new army walking our streets with banners at first...and who know what next.  It's all there to take place...the organiztion, the leadership and the will to achieve Big Government...Big Brother.. total control over our healthcare, fantasy energy policy that will see the cost of power skyrocket and the whatever the competitive advantage of the USA versus the rest of the world eliminated...and the middle class paying the bill..as we always do.
That's the worst case... the best case is I am totally off base, Obama is a statesman with talent from God, is able to control the wild spending plans of Pelosi, Reid, Schumer. and Barney Frank, and, most difficult try to hold to a minimum the hearings we know will be coming from the lunatic fringe of the democrat party......and sets up a bi-partisan government with the best brains in the country seeking to serve the people.

I'm not seeing where failure was rewarded.

Obviously your logic is flawed.

True the rating for the HofR and Senate are(were) at 14%.

But somehow you think it was the dems that folks were hating on.

Yesturday proved that wrong.

It was the congressional conservatves Americans were hating on,obviously. Now, that`s inarguable where before it was theory.

My god,we(dems) picked up more Senate  and house seats as well as Obama`s victory.

Can you offer a different explaination?

I take offence that you`re calling Americans sheep.Perhaps your POV needs an adjustment.

And you should also consider that your post relies on a poll(14%) that`s taken from the same sheep you just insulted.

Take a breath......

...the only poll that ever matters is an electoral one. So, that 14% you mention was clearly in error........or are you going to accuse the Democrats of vote rigging?

I've been saying that for years, MM.

popeye1250 -> RE: What Now? (11/5/2008 5:05:19 PM)

What now?
Well hopefully Obama will get a big infrastructure program going nationwide and get people working again at good wages!
Something like 600-800 bridges need to be replaced, not just fixed.
New roads, sewers, water lines, electrical lines, bridges, levees, the ports, airports, all kinds of things that have been neglected.
That is the one single thing that will get this economy going fast and it will take years to do and will pull us right out of this reccession that we're in.
People will be making money and they'll be spending it on all kinds of things.

nejisty -> RE: What Now? (11/5/2008 5:37:56 PM)

Where is the money going to come from for all this?   The Presidential printer?  Thought Bush ran that out of ink already.    nejisty

Amen, popeye.

When your doors and windows are broken, you can't just pretend it's not winter. We've ignored and ignored and ignored this problem.

AND---government spending (people forget) goes into the economy too.

I think Rush Limbaugh, Oreilly and whats his face , Hannity, will all suffer from bleeding ulcers in the next two years. I can only imagine the vitriol spurting from their lips.

MadAxeman -> RE: What Now? (11/5/2008 6:45:12 PM)

That's the most sensible thing I've ever seen you post Popeye.
Some foreign investment may return quicker than expected, the world reaction is extremely positive so far.

Oh! Tar, see?
