ORIGINAL: Aneirin I think people should just concentrate on a President's ability to run the country, what he does in his private life, is his own business. If he does something unlawful, then as others have said, he is not above the law, he will be found out, as I suspect there are many axe grinders and smiling knives around any leader. Look at yourself, can you honestly think that if you were in a president's position, you would be whiter than white, could you be, is that possible given the pressure you would be under. Interesting thing I read recently, men who are in absolute positions of power, find submission to another in their private lives actually beneficial to their professional lives, if a president in the privacy of his own private life does that, then more power to him and it is no one else's business. Do you show this much passion when any politician is attacked....or just the ones you like? As a rule I don't like nor trust politicians, but they exist and despite my misgivings, some actually do some good and for the right reasons, but I fail to see where it is mine or anyone elses's business what a politician does when they are in their own time. Granted, a president or prime minister is always on duty, by means of their position, the position they worked so hard to get, but it is their choice. Given that someone is prepared to do what they do for the greater good, I think we can forgive some of the things that they as a human being do. I for one do not need nor seek to know what brand of shirt a celebrity wears or whether they enjoy the use of nicotine, it is irrelevant.
