I walked into another teacher's room after school the other day and she was playing John Denver's Greatest Hits! Brought me right back to middle school- my sister played John Denver night and day! I think I still know the words to "Grandma's Feather Bed". [:D] But it's Woody Guthrie/Pete Seger/Kingston Trio Folk stuff that really takes me back. All those folk festivals, concerts and just hanging out with other musicians that my parents did in the 60's. I could sing bluegrass harmony in thirds by the time I was 3.

Going back to age 6 or 7, the soundtrack albums from Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and Peter Pan (the Mary Martin version). And an album of Burl Ives folk songs that my grandma had. I played them on her little Longines Symphonette stereo. For pop music, ones that come to mind are Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, Witch Doctor, Downtown, and Sugar Sugar by the Archies

When I was about 5, me and my best friend --ok, my best friend and I, but we were only 5 at the time and didn't worry over grammar!-- used to listen (over and over and over -as only a 5 year olds can) to The Jungle Book record, Fiddler on the Roof and those Disney Compilation records they gave away at the Gulf stations with a full tank of gas. .......boy am I old. Surely there are others here who remember gas station give-aways? Those glasses with the black plastic base that came off? But you couldn't use the glass without it because they were round on the bottom? LPs? Toys?

Windchymes my first thought was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. I still to this day watch both when they come on. Chitty is my 7 yr old grand girly um favorite movie to watch.
