somehow, I don't think we'd see Obama supporters screaming "IMPEACH McCAIN" before the man was even sworn in to office...

Well, not before they tried to get the will of the people overturned from the bench...  But yeah.  We would.

With all due respect, I think this thread is getting out of hand. No wonder the topics of Religion and Politics are off limits in many places.  Obama's followers, rejoice and hope that he has the wisdom and good grace to lead us with honor and to have our best interest at heart.  McCain's followers, accept the majority's decision gracefully and move on. Either way, no one run for office just to piss the opposite followers off. This is not about you, but for our nation as a whole, so stop taking it personally.

==Life is not measured by how many breaths you take but by doing the things that take your breath away==

All well and good elle, but human nature being what it is and all...the people who supported the winner puff up ther chest and strut a little....the others whine a little...it is what it is.

I'm pretty sure this election was stolen, Rich.

How about you?

I'll just laugh when all of his promises of change end up as nothing. Its one thing to say something, its another to do it.

Sanity -> RE: Obama is not immune. (11/7/2008 7:34:20 PM)

Yeah, he's going to have to do better than merely walk on water if he's going to keep all of his promises. This had ought to be an interesting ride... bumpy as hell, but wildly entertaining, I'm sure.

.....how? Are you seriously suggesting voter fraud? Or somehow all those votes were miscounted? Or are you getting as carried away by conspiracy theories as Meatcleaver?

MadAxeman -> RE: Obama is not immune. (11/7/2008 7:57:31 PM)

Have Republican supporters no grace at all?
McCain showed some class in his concession speech, follow his lead if you admire him so much.
Some appear to want the next 4 years to be disastrous.

..i think Sanity really does want the next four years to be a disaster....if it isn't, then he was wrong...and to some people that can never be a reality they can accept.

And if that's the case, at least he didn't cause the problems in the first place - he'll still be light years ahead of Bush.

You CAN'T impeach him.  He hasn't taken office yet.

Yep I can see it now Obama walks on water...and you would complain about the ripples his walk caused.

he hasn't even stepped foot in office yet. Plus he can make problems alot worse, and cause clusterfucks of his own. I see his administration as an epic fail. epic epic epic.

Epic Fail.

I just don't like the man. I wish him well and he did win, so he is president, and if he does walk on water, I'll be pretty damn amazed. But I don't see a damn thing changing except maybe the iraq war ending. whatever though, this is like bashing my face in with a shovel voicing my opinion about the man, you are all so entranced by him.

Owner59 -> RE: Obama is not immune. (11/7/2008 8:35:21 PM)

I guess for conservatives, there will be no grace period/honeymoon.

I heard a nut job on righty-wingy radio today say that Obama`s cheif of staff offed Barack`s grandmother b/c she was going to "spill the beans".

So it starts.

I am just thinking about all the criticism that Bush got during both terms.  Obama is getting a free pass at the moment (more so than Bush got in his first term.  But Obama never led anything.)  But Obama isn't going to get a free pass this time.  When people say they are sick of politics, they have been saying that for 8 years of Bush,  Well, Obama isn't getting a pass.

How's about you name me one POTUS that got a free pass?

What, the man was elected days ago, hasn't even been sworn in yet, and you're disappointed that he hasn't been lambasted, castrated, and eviscerated?  Life is full of these little disappointments, boy.  I suggest you make an effort to get over it.

Grace

MadAxeman -> RE: Obama is not immune. (11/7/2008 8:59:51 PM)

Even though it seems futile, I don't think you should give up on the 'shovel in the face' thing.
Persevere, things will make sense given enough application.
