This is another reason I'm glad I'm not Republican or Democrat.
I can't even keep up with all the differant names you guys call each other.

There he is!  The man of the hour.  A breath of fresh air.

Popeye,  I lost track of how many 2008 bail outs there have been.

Maybe I will feel better if I have a glass of melimine leaded milk.

FUCK the globalists.             The  states should secceed.    Dis-join the UN, WTO, NAFTA all of it.    states rights is a joke.

every state tried to regulate this mortgage thing.  then when elliot spittzer got loud- they took him down.    safetest toys season ever, but dont you dare test em with a home lead tester.
What the HELL do we even NEED a federal governent for?

At this point- the native indians had the best system.

LOL PaHunk, yeah, if they're not going to do their job and run our country they should stay home.
I and I think most Americans agree with you on getting out of the "U.N.", W.T.O., and especially that abortion called "NAFTA" which has caused millions of Americans to lose their jobs and have to work for much less!
I want a government that works "for The People" for a change instead of for corporations!
As well as getting out of the above we need to outlaw "Lobbying!"
Every single one of those people on "K" street belongs in prison as far as I'm concerned! Even the secretaries, they know what the fuck is going on in those buildings!
Hopefully President Obama will be throwing the "money changers" out of the temple come Jan 20th.
There's whole groups of businesses and people who make a lifetime "career" out of extracting U.S. Taxpayer Dollars rather than starting and running their own businesses. And it's the same companies and individuals who are doing that year after year after year! They even have a phrase for it in Washington, it's called, "Mining the Taxpayers!"
And of course they love those "free trade" deals and easy immigration policies that benefit businesses at the expense of everyday working people.
It's as though the working people in this country have become their "enemies!"
Working people get pay cuts due to the above and "the suits" get bonuses!
If this doesn't change we're in for a very rocky road!
We have a separation of church and state in this country, we need to have a separation of big business and state!

I wrote this in Mia's lates thread but it will serve me well here too:

I LOVE that Emmanuel is pro Israel and that it is important to him that The United States keeps a free and democratic Iraq. I like that he is Hawkish on the Middle East and wants peace there on Israel's and The United States' terms.

But his appointment can't make the anti-war and anti-Israel factions that voted in droves for The President Elect.

Ditto for the anti Wall Street'ers (who also voted for Obama in droves) because Emmanuel was known as The Congressman from Wall Street.

Look,,, I think Obama can stand the heat. His Speech and Press Conference clearly showed he was a leader, in charge and will be calling the shots.

His vast nation of Internet protectors would be better served if they stopped worrying about racists and veiled racists comments, solely because they dare to criticize the man or even less... point out to his blathering sycophants that maybe he's not quite the politician they thought he was.

Obama is going to really piss off a lot of his supporters (George W. Bush routinely pissed me off.). It's the price of having to be President to all the people.

But

Which of course means no peace. Not many people outside the US can understand why the tail wags the dog, probably the US's irrational religiousity and cockeyed belief of many Americans that a god of a stoneage tribe really is god.

As long as there is no peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, that conflict will be used to recruit ever new generations of extremists. Allowing the largest concentration camp to exist in the middle east is not going to help Iraq become a democracy of Iran become less radical.

The first signs are that Obama is going to pursue a Republican style foreign policy, I suppose that should be no surprise when one looks at the last sixty years of US policy and how successful its been.

Yep, that last sentence was sarcasm.

And,  it would be a good thing.  Absolutly no sarcasim intended

(BTW meatcleaver... if was also the policy of Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter and Clinton and they are Democrats in the last 60 years we have had both ya know and the policy toward the Israel adn the Middle East has been pretty much the same in both parties as well it should be,)

But the statement using the dreaded R word, will get accused of being a racist, a bigot or worst...a troll.

And again I will ask... how will the anti war crowd react when Obama pursues teh same US Policy to Israel and The Middle East as awlways? (even if the way the question was posted was way over some posters heads)

Which is precisely why there hasn''t been a resolution to the conflict.

You know what they say, the definition of madness is doing the same thing time and again and expecting a different outcome. That about sums up US middle east policy...ie. madness!

Well, I suppose the optimism of many people around the world that the US have voted in a rational intelligent leader will be dashed and everyone will go back to thinking about the US in the same old way.

Yes but you defied it as a "Republican style" forgien policy, whem it was concived by Democrats in 1948 and has been implemented by both parties since.

Call it US style, not Republican.

I guess you're right. I suppose it indicates the unseen political forces behind a President that a failed policy hasn't been changed for 60 years.

That was one of the things that bugged me the most, all of the pap thrown Obama's way from people around the world. Even the most casual observer could see that Obama was an establishment candidate.

Here's a clue to the world....

Americans don't give a damn who you think should be our President.

If the world really wanted an American President who would break away for established US Foreign Policy, then they would have been sending all of their illegal $200.00 donations to Ron Paul!

OK. Fine by me. American presidents are so dumb they have been trying the same old failed policies for 60 years.

As I pointed out before, the definition of madness is trying the same old thing and expecting a different outcome.

Maybe they don't want a different outcome, that still seems mad or dumb to me, take your choice.

First and foremost....almost all of this is supposition at best. How is it in your infinite wisdom there Fats, that you just know that people will be disappointed in Obama....wishful thinking on your part? Who is so anti-Israel? The KKK, The Ayrian Brotherhood, The Neo-Nazis et al.
Although foreign policy is a concern but the first part of any agenda is the economy! How it is that you extrapolate Rham Emmanuel to failed Mid East policy is way the out there. But what the hell, why should you start making sense to me now, you have rarely done so in the past.If anything Obama has been accused of being less than Israels biggest supporter. He has had to defend himself on Israel on many occasions and clarified yes, he does support Israel than leaves it at that. I think his approach (yet to be seen afterall...he doesn't take office until JANUARY) will be more even handed for all parties than what has come before. Who knows, it might even surprise the omnipotent Fat Dom?

Why is that some libs so freely use the personal att,,,, ahhh...never mind.

Look,

I didn't start the whole "Obama can't win because majority of Whites will not vote for him" discussion, that was the Clinton wing of the DNC, I just started the tread here about that issue during the height of the Primary season. I did however give it credence but if anything, as I said, the fact that I and many of the higher ups in the DNC were wrong, is again...a testament to how great a country The United States actually is.

As for "living the Black Experience" that too was a media topic rehashed during the campaign. It was first brought out by The great Social and Jazz Critic, Stanley Crouch and then, again rehashed by the loyal BLACK Clinton elected Democrats and Community people. They tried to make it play in South Carolina if you don't remember.

Of course, the people who want to jump all over the messenger and want to accuse troll over every thread that is political opposite of their own views need to get their rocks off so... one needs to have the ability to blow them off.

But here are facts...

Rahm Emmanuel is the PE's COS.

Rahm Emmanuel is a "War Party Democrat" and full supporter of Israel and the Iraqi War.

Rahm Emmanuel has often been called Wall Street's Congressman.

Now... That can't make the anti-war Obama supporters very happy and its has disappointed many Obama supporters and as meatcleaver pointed out, admirers.  Many of the anti-Wall St. Obama supporters likewise cannot be very happy. So make of it what you will. But Emmanuel is anything but a "Change" Democrat and everything about "Establishment" Democrat.  So if you are offended by pointing out these types of things... don't read the thread.

Mr Emanuel will facilitate and implement Mr Obama`s policy, not make it.

He will be a good adviser and the farthest from a "yes man".Amateur hour(err 8 years of them) is over.

All of your spin and misrepresentations imply that Mr Obama wasn`t pro-Israel or pro-business.

Not true at all.Neither is your assertion that Mr.Emanuel is "for the Iraq war".

But let's see if there will be an "Obama Lied" if we are still fighting in Iraq in 2010.

2010?

You`ll have your hands full explaining and apologizing for Bush.

You`ll need more than two years for that.....
