I really didn't like the term "mutt" as he used it on his way into the plane, but I was using it as he did, meaning "mixed." Hell, most of us are mixed with something. One dumbass referred to my kids and my great niece and nephews (who are half black, half white) as "zebra babies," and got an earful from my niece and me. Mixed is an ok term with me, I don't like mutt or zebra, and bi-racial still sounds weird to me, though I've used it. I guess the whole race thing kind of makes me shrug my shoulders because I was married to a man from overseas for 13 years, and have been with a black guy for 5, so it just doesn't faze me much. But I know that this country wasn't always this way. Regardless, I hope that as Americans, we give our new President a chance to make good on his policies, whatever color he calls himself. I still call myself "ivory bisque." (no, Axey, that's NOT like lobster bisque)
