in some of the "house of gord" videos ive been watching, I see them using this tape that they use to mummify the women. it seems like basic fabric tape (basicly duct tape, but with more of a fabric feel on the outside of it). what is this tape called, and where can i get some of it?

I agree with sweetpettjenny - I am pretty sure the product you are referring to is VetWrap (made by 3M). It is available in a multitude of colours (off the top of my head... blue, black, green, bright pink, dark purple, natural/tan/beige, red, white and yellow). Reason it is called VetWrap is that it is used by vetenarians for wrapping of animals' injuries and holding poultices in place, particularly on larger pets, equines and zoo animals.

It is fairly cheap - around £2-£3 ($3-$5) per roll, depending on where you buy it and how many you buy at a time. It is also reuseable if you don't stretch it too much when applying it or taking it off.

This stuff smells... a distinct clinical odour which isn't to everybody's taste, but it is cohesive - sticking only to itself - rather than to the surface it is applied to. It does leave its signature scent on the skin though.

You can get around this to a certain degree by making use of other medical products which are similarly cheap. Buy some continuous tubular support bandage ("elasticated surgical tubular stockinette") - the kind used to support a sprained wrist or ankle, or used by the elderly to keep joints warmer - and apply that around the limbs you want to immobilise, and it keeps the taint off the skin.

There are some other manufacturers of similar vetinary products which work out considerably cheaper per roll, for instance www.vetbandage.co.uk if you are in the UK, but I can't speak for the smell (or otherwise) of the alternative manufacturers' products.

i just went down to PETSmart and almost didnt find them, but it was in the horse section. i rememberd i have some of this vet wrap here at home. this wasnt what i was looking for, but it will definatly work. i was looking for basicly duct tape, with more of a fabric top to it. none the less, this stuff will be GREAT for mumification and bounding my girl, hehe

also for mummification try using rolls of pallet wrap, most packaging places sell them and they are heaps cheaper than bondage tape, and work really really well :D

Pallet wrap is fantastic stuff. $20 worth of it, is enough todo 2 or 3 dozen solid mummies.

It goes a long long way, you can also then use duct tape over top of it, for reinforcement.  Without the pain of the duct tape against your skin.

An alternative to pallet wrap is shrink wrap. 500 ft is about $75 and will last several sessions. Once the submissive is wrapped in the shrink wrap, heat the plastic with a hair dryer, and the bondage becomes tighter. And additional 25% shrinkage is not unusual. Have a pair of bandage scissor on hand for removal. Other precautions would be to keep the subject hydrated as the plastic can build up heat underneath the wrap and cause profound sweating. Avoid mummification for longer that 2 hours or keep in a cool room to other overheating. For additional fun you can remove the plastic around sensitive areas for nipple or genital play. Good luck and have fun. Uline industries on the internet can be a source to purchase.

Shrink wrap is a bad idea. You said it yourself, 25% additional shrinkage. That could cut off circulation or cause situational suffication. And just because the hair dryer is off, that doesnt mean the shrink wrap has stopped shrinking, body heat maybe enough for the shrink to continue to the point of danger.

I would agree to go with the vet wrap over anything else, especially full body mummification.  The bondage tape works well from the neck down, also fairly inexpensive.  But yes if into full body mummification the vetwrap for the win hands down.

Vet wrap stuff sounds like it would also make for nice gags and blindfolds... I currently get duct-taped, which is fun - but the removal can be a little painfull.

you can also use bondage tape.

it's as restrictive as duct tape.. but it doesn't have an adhesive backing. it sticks to itself.

http://www.stockroom.com/Bondage-Tape-P1012.aspx

it comes in latex and also a vinyl sorta thing..

from experience, it takes asbout 3 rolls to completely mummify a person

pallet and vet wrap is ace as well!

I will call around  to a few of the tact shops, see if they have it.  An online tact shop, was selling the Vet wrap for $1.95 a roll.

Sorry to disagree WeeIttyBitty, however have played with shrink wrap and found it not only safe, but easier to apply than bondage tape. As a precaution to your concerns, I would recommend bandage scissors for quick removal. As for the heat continuing after the dryer is removed, your concerns are unfounded since once the heat source is removed the the shrinkage stops. Body heat is not high enough to produce shrinkage as temperature above 120 degrees are required.

Dont be sorry. Always keep scissors nearby never know when things can go bad very bad...

98.6 is the average normal body tempature of a person. (some run a little warmer - some colder) but seal that body up in a plastic bag (or enclose 90% of the body in a plastic bag) - you dont think the tempature in the bag could rise to 120? I would be shocked if the tempature didnt rise to 120 in the bag...
