Even those who meet your 4 criteria might not be "real", they might be playing the part still. I know at least 1 dominant that comes to mind who dominates his girl because he thinks she expects it, not because he actually wants to. Does that count as real? Finding someone you consider a good match, real by someone elses standards or not, is hit and miss. You talk, see if you click and then move from there. Like Lynn said, its a lot of common sense. DV

It begins with the submissive knowing what qualities she believes HER 'real' Dom should possess and then going about chatting and communicating with Doms until she finds one, using her common sense as Lynnxz suggested, who suits her needs and desires, and vice versa. Edited to add: the fucking elephants and toy belt are dead giveaways. As is dressing head-to-toe in black, with at least two articles of clothing being leather. [;)]

There's no real way that you can tell with 100% certainty until you're there in a real life relationship with that person, and even then, you can always be wrong. However, there are certain things that are pretty indicitive of a fake (emails immediately demanding you serve them, immediate requests for nude photos, a refusal to talk on the phone, unavailable on nights and weekends, etc). But, mostly, it comes down to intuition.
