physcsdrk -> Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 11:17:42 AM)

I was just reading the scene pic thread by talmar and a question came to mind.

I am always hearing people talk (type) about how you need to be careful about sending out scene pictures with your face in them. I personally do not do this because I am afraid to see my pictures posted on some website some day. I was wandering though, has anyone ever had a really bad experience with their pictures being used online or something like that?

I am just wandering if I am paranoid, or if it really does happen.

No, that's why I keep my clothes on and keep the background dark *wink*wink*

also hides the torture instruments really well :)

I have seen profiles with the same pic and different nicks. Then it doesn't bother me that much. Nothing I can do to people that they have not done to themselves.

cheers

Once your pic gets out, you have no control over it, for the average person.

In theory there are rules and laws and retributions, but online it's nearly impossible to track and only really worthwhile if you are professional. The most damage it could do would be to your personal life.

So don't let pics out unless you recognize the possible consequences. I'm out, so I don't have to worry. I'm an exhibitionist so I love sharing my pic.

afmvdp -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 11:57:49 AM)

haha. There are so many inappropriate pictures of me floating about out in cyberspace I'd give a catholic politician a run for their money.

Seriously though, it all comes back to how you handle yourself in the lifestyle. If it is something you are open about then you are handling the problems more often and more likely but you normally have less to "lose" so to speak, as you aren't really hiding anything. (mind you there are likely SOME details that you wouldn't prefer floating about your family gatherings regardless [;)] )

If your D/s life is sort of a hidden alter ego that is kept in secret dark closets then eventually you will slip up and your information or face will likely end up somewhere you didn't want it to and this can be far more devestating. In this case, if you have something too important to lose then don't risk it in the first place and keep pictures at a minimum.

Mine are in the Black Rose publications. I figure if you are in a place where your sceen pics are visible then the person who is viewing them is there too. As far as someone using them without authorization; it has happened once.
I tracked the person down and made sure he was taught the appropriate lesson.

talmar -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 12:22:27 PM)

I have (and had) pics on a Pro Dommes website of me being tortured & in bondage...but my face is not clearly shown in those. I am out to most of my close friends & I am kind of exhibitionistic as well.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 1:10:20 PM)

You're not being paranoid. There will always be scandalous people, on the internet and elsewhere that feel the need to steal other peoples' pictures and pawn them off as their own. If you're comfortable with that possibility, post away. Personally, I'm very open about my lifestyle choices, but I draw the line at posting nudity. It's all personal preference.

tasha_tart -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 1:14:07 PM)

Not exactly on-topic, but I did have someone take one of my pics on another site, and paste his own big ugly head on it, and use it as his own profile pic!

A little paranoia can be a good thing. I wouldn't put out pics of me that I didn't want published in the Sunday paper unless they went to people I felt I knew and could trust. Just send the others a nice pic of you with a big smile and your clothes on. What more could they want?

Oumae -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 1:48:24 PM)

I had a pic on my profile here, since disallowed that ended up on a trampling site.

I was chatting to a sub who said he liked my shoes and then said he had seen them before...he sent me a pic he'd saved from a trample site, yes, was one of me!
I have no idea who posted the pic, they didn't ask :(

I'm careful about what pics I post for general viewing for that exact reason.

LMAO......... that's just wrong.

physcsdrk -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 4:43:28 PM)

Yeah, I actually have a limit on naked pics/videos of me. So I don't have any to send out anyways, but thanks for the responses.

On a side note, I've had one person stop chatting with me because she sent me naked pics and I refused to send any of myself or to get naked on the webcam for her.....I was completely honest with her about it from the start and did not ask for the naked pics from her. What's up with that?

I wish I'd kept a copy of the doctored pic; it really was rather strange looking.[:D]

MsIncognito -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/19/2005 8:19:09 PM)

Never had any bad experiences but I never take pics with anything identifying in them (face, tattoos, stuff in the background, etc). I even go so far as to photoshop out my tattoos if they are in pics and I want to post them. I happen to like a photographic record of the results of my play. Bruises and welts and puncture marks are yummy and nice to reminisce/perv on after the fact [:D]

pandoravampire -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/20/2005 4:53:14 AM)

ive had one person from collarme, take my profile pic, and photoshop themselves into the photo kneeling naked at my feet.

10/10 for effort i say!
shame it was a sub seeking a Domme, when my profile at the time was sub seeking Dom.
Guess he just hadnt gotten around to reading my profile, as per usual.

I know my daughter has used my pic to join another site. This i took to be a complement, and rather silly of her.

And i know of a Dom, who was sent a sub's 'pic' and it turned out to be her daughters.

My feelings are, so long as you assume that anything you put on the web, is up for theft and abuse, if your ok with your mug shot to be misused, go for it.
Naked pics of me, dont go anywhere. Neither do any of 'our' photo's. They are private.

MrBiguun51 -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/20/2005 9:55:42 AM)

I usually block out my face and the face of the ladies i play with

I shared a private photo with a friend. I did not show my face.

The photo ended up on a website.

So much for my friend.

You are not paranoid.

I just heard about a man who lost his job because of his photos and profile on another Website, so one can never be too cautious.

phoenixslave -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/24/2005 4:12:50 PM)

i had pre web pics of me surface on the net and they made the rounds of my office. i didn't lose my job but it wasn't easy. i don't have to worry these days but with all the people who troll theses sites i don't care to open myself up to local people i don't know and don't care to. When i was looking this made it harder but i found my way.

sultryvoice -> RE: Scene Pic Experiences (12/24/2005 6:10:06 PM)

As you can see from the previous replies, there aren't any pics immune from this. That is why no one sees anything but what is posted. As I stated on the other thread, I do have scene pics but they are in my camera and only myself and the Dom that took them know. He doesn't have any of the pics. He sees them with me. It was his idea. If I choose to show them, they will be while I am present.

Respectfully,
sultry
