it's because they're afraid that the public will discover that most of the money went to line the pockets of the Congressmen and Senators. the special interest groups, the oil companies, and other various organizations and businesses in America...not to mention all the money sent out to "help" other countries around the world.
makes me wish that various aspects of Star Trek were a reality, such as the end of hunger and poverty. would that be nice?
In the film "All the Presidents Men" Hal Holbrook, as Deep Throat, advised to "follow the money." When it is intentionally hidden from us that becomes impossible to do. It is possible that is the intention of the veils. But in not knowing where and to whom it has gone we simply don't know.
Secrets (and lies) almost always have hidden motives and agendas with the express intent of benefitting or protecting the keeper/s of such secrets. I am always mistrustful of those that manipulate information, and me, and make the claim it is in my best interest. I believe when truth is kept from me it becomes at least more difficult, and perhaps impossible, for me to make fully informed decisions that keep me healthy, safe and protected.
