I'm amazed that he hasn't found anyone worthy of his vote. I'll admit that in the presidential elections it can be a poor choice but often one can find idealistic folks at the local and state level.

Of course, if one wants to really chance things, he'll have to do more than just vote for good people. It's a privilege to work on campaigns and being active in support groups. Anyone can do that but so few do. Even if he doesn't have money, he can donate time to man phone banks or go door to door. Then maybe in a few years one of those people will have worked up to the presidential level and he can vote for him... or her.

I try to meet everyone running for our local offices. While Libby and I were in Boston we found a number of good, decent men and women and were glad to lend our support both before election day and through out ballots.

Now that we're down in Florida we're in the process of getting to know the local officials and we're looking forward to the next election season where we can work hard to replace a few of them.

I think we'll see one of a different origin before we see a woman in office...

That is quite unlikely in that you have to be native born in the USA to be president last I read, no naturalization or adoption.

There is currently in fact a grass roots campaign to change the US laws to allow naturalized to run for office, bankrolled by guess who??

unfortunately, men will never allow for a lady president. they basically have to do like Hillary and run things from the background. not that i supported her, but she was pulling the strings IMO.
