Status: offline 		In regards to the original poster, I can understand teh whole concept of daytime only or nighttime only, having worked more than my fare share of overnight/graveyard jobs.  When you have to be at work at anywhere from 9-11PM and are there until 6-8AM, it does tend to reduce the amount of available time for beatings and such.  Granted, after reading his profile, I felt the insane urge to beat my chest, point and grunt to issue commands to my subbie about fetching me something to drink, but that is beside the point.

The thing that I saw that disheartened me, though, was the instant feeding frenzy that swirled around him like a large, well-used toilet bowl.

Now, I will be the first to get in line to smack him upside the head if he is looking for instant gratification.  If you want that, get some instant hot chocolate mix and some hot water.  But I read nothing anywhere that stated any kind of a time line.  Who knows if this s an instant kind of thing he was bitching about, or 6...8...12 months of his time basically crumpled up and round filed simply because someone got cold feet.  Who knows if he didn't actually run into some kind of a posting bot repeatedly.

How would some of you like it if you called the phone company and was ridiculed because you couldn't figure out what was wrong with your telephone before the customer service person so much as asked for your name?

To strike it a bit closer to home, how would you enjoy it if you called the pediatrician's office and was mocked for not knowing what was wrong with your child by the nurse on the other end of the phone?

How many of you would fly into an unmittigated temper tantrum worthy of my 4 year old, if not one surpassing them, if this happened to you, but you gladly sit here and launch volley after volley at the O.P. for doing nothing more than that?

If this strikes a nerve, oh well.  Don't expect me to apologize for stating a bald faced fact about this entire thread.

Also...

Don't expect me to point out where the actual sarcasm is in this post.  Like spandex, sarcasm is best used to small quantities. *smirk*

I've only been actively on the forums for ... hmm two weeks now and um ... I think there are a bunch of old threads asserting this same idea.

Negative generalizations are not good and can lead to a defeatist attitude.

Patience is indeed a virtue. Something true and worthwhile does not happen overnight, I have had to remind myself of that in the past.
