Years ago, I was told of an old tale in the British Army about a Captain who inspected the men under his command and told the Sergeant Major that they smelled bad. The Captain suggested that they change their underwear.
The Sergeant Major responded, "Yes, sir, I'll see to it immediately!"
He went into the tent and said, "The Captain thinks you smell bad, and wants you to change your underwear. Smith, you change with Jones. McCarthy, you change with McStuart. Brown, you change with Wilson. Get to it."
The moral: A candidate may promise 'change' in Washington, but do not count on things smelling any better
