i would like to know if anyone might have any advice for a new submissive

Lesson One is that when you ask a question, communicate, provide some background, some information, even some views on what you are up to, and what you are aiming for, a reason why you ask this question, the general answer to this can be found all over the Internet, it won't be customized for you since you provide nothing personal. Your type of one line question will get you many answers, most of which provide exactly what you have presented: confusion.

Antipode,

Perhaps you don't get why someone would ask a question and simply trust that others may situationalistically reply to it, wanting to share from their own experiences. I, personally, happen to think the question asked by the OP is a valid one, and she isn't, in this case, looking for someone to show up on the thread and offer her a black and white, canned and pat answer to her question.  She's become part of a community, which I feel is willing to share whatever they can from their own experiences, in the hope of offering advise, insight, encouragement; hell even a smile for that matter, is something I'm quite sure the OP would be grateful for.

What she's not asking for, is someone to show up in the thread thinking they need to police her post or the message boards, for that matter, scolding people just because they don't seem to think their question, as it stands, is valid.   Not only are you violating basic principals of charity in discourse, with such action, you're also violating the spirit of this community; which in my view, as having been a member of now for only a week, is rock solid!

I didn't post a response to you when you jumped on my thread a couple of days ago, with the same negative and intollerant attitude that you've shown the OP, here now..  However, to anyone objectively looking at your comments, your is the only confusing answer that this gal is going to have to read and try to sort through... Moreover, so far as I can tell, you're the only one confused by her question.  So why bother to post a reply at all?   I hardly think people new to the lifestyle, have signed on here with questions, only to have others come along blowin smoke up their asses... You may wanna rethink your attitude concerning the contribution that you could make, to a post like this, if you chose to but I doubt you will.

Don't fall for the first Dom that you think you have connected with.  Take your time, get to know him, let him get to know you.  Your ideas of someone can change pretty quickly once you find out who they really are.  Just don't rush it, and don't believe everything someone on the internet says...

I would say learn/discover what it is you want in this type of relationship, then look for another with complementary interests.  Look long and hard, communicate a lot, watch for the 'red flags' as you do, then settle into things with someone you have found and trust.  Simple as that, eh?  *grin*

The sub/ dom dynamic changes from dom to sub so there is no book on this. Listen and learn from your dom. Watch him and understand what pleases him.
