sirtopumhat -> Advice on gags (12/20/2005 12:52:27 PM)

My sub has expressed a desire to be gagged. I'm guessing that a ball gag would be best but I'm not sure. I thought I would ask the subs since you have the most experience wearing gags.

Do they make your mouth sore? If so how long can you wear it before it gets uncomfortable?

Any other advice?

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Advice on gags (12/20/2005 12:55:27 PM)

Do you want less noise? Do you still want access to the mouth? What's her gag reflex like? Does she have allergies? Do you want attachment points?

Anything can be a good gag- a sock or pair of panties or duct tape, and more.

Depends on what you want it for and the particulars of the situation.

If she doesn't have a mustache, Duct tape is great!

Peace, Kevin

maybe the duct tape is great if she does have a mustache, get rid of it while you are at it?

But seriously I have reservations about using anything cloth or soft as a gag as the chances of choking are higher, things like ball gags make that less of a risk. IMHO

Thanks a lot for the responses and the links. This is my first day here, next time I'll know better and use the search function.

Regarding duct tape:
I would think that it would hurt like hell when it came off. Does it?

Depends on how you do it and where it is.

As far as choking, yes the gag reflex is an issue. On the other hand, in a ball gag you can't swallow spit very well so you have to drool or it could go into the throat causing coughing spasms which are bad when you can't move your jaw. With cloth you can absorb the spit.

My preferred gag is a bit gag, but it's no good for muffling downs.

One thing to remember while gagging somebody is that, if they now have no way to speak, then they cannot use their safeword if needed. Therefore, the sub needs another way to convey to you that they are distressed in some way. It could be snapping their fingers, holding a handkerchief and dropping it to convey "safeword!", blinking the eyes rapidly. It also means you have to be on the alert for these non-verbal signs.

Generally I advise against duct tape because some of them have very strong adhesives and can literally tear off skin if you're not careful. It varies from brand to brand, so try it on your own skin before slapping it on someone else.

Bandage/first aid tape and bondage tape are both designed to hold well while also coming off without damage.

More importantly, people have unknown allergies to adhesives and this can cause severe skin burns--

also of one for any reason starts to vomit, duct tape can be hard to get off--stick with something that restrains but is quick to be removed should something go wrong--

Hmm, while I am not a big fan of being gagged...I have on occassion bit down on something to keep the screams minimized...usually the end of a pillow, or sheet...something along those lines...

but to actually be gagged, not sure...never had them used so I am not sure

Yes, the Ball Gag is the best I think for your sub. If she didn't have a Gag Reflex, she could use a Penis Gag. I have to get use to using my Penis Gag, since I don't use it as often as I use to, and do have trouble with the Gag reflex sometimes. I have to concentrate and relax more when I use it.

The Ball Gag I have, had a large hard ball, so I replaced it with a Smaller/softer ball, and workds much better. If you want something with more extras, I use a Trainer. Mine is like a Ball Gag, but has and extra Leather Strap that goes over the face and buckles in the back. It has Metal Rings on each side to connect to reins or whatever, and a large Metal Ring on the top. I replaced this ball too and it is much easier and more comfy to ues.

Wish I had my gag on now, BalletBob

PS I can send you a pictures of my Gags, if this would help you out more. Just e-mail me.

i'm thinking why not browse JT's Stockroom or Extreme Restraints, talk about what you see, but you surprise her/him (you didn't specify) at a later date.
i LOVE being gagged! but all these safety concerns are real. Let me add:
A. DO NOT leave the sub gagged while you are out of earshot, visual contact and DON"T leave the house.
B. No gags if the sub has a cold, sinus infection, etc. Now you're asking for choking to happen.
