Candy, good for you!
A lot of the women in my family have furcoats.
Hmm, I wonder if they make fur thongs?
That's a fantasy of mine too, a woman out in public with me in a fur coat and undernieth high heels, stockings, leather garterbelt, thong.
I like leather too!
I say DO IT!
If you don't you'll wish you did!
And yes, they make good "fuck rugs" too!

Yup, Yup, Yup...a blonde in a mink coat makes some men hard, he he.  *All good.*

I do not intend to die without squeezing all the joy out of being alive I can, and that includes fetish wear.

Some will say terrible horrible things about the idea, and you for wanting one. Personally, I am not one of them. I honestly don't see fur any differently than leather. Others do.

I think it's the quantity of minks required for one coat, I could probably make a coat out of the skin of rats and most people wouldn't know the difference. I see the point about leather but cattle aren’t breed specifically just to clothe people, the leather is almost a by-product of other requirements and would always exist regardless. Minks are breed specifically and the treatment of them in some cases isn't that great.

I don't 'ethically source' my fetish gear, FullCircle.  I don't judge anyone who does, please understand, but for me ethics revolve around how people are treated, with the exception of cruelty to animals.  That I do get very cheesed off about.

I know the difference between a high quality mink coat and a poor quality one.  I presume (though I suppose I could be wrong) that high-quality skins come from animals that were not unduy stressed and were treated well while they were alive.

But frankly, they're rodents.  I guess rodents don't arouse the same reaction in me as kitties, doggies and horses.

This is a common fallacy. Usually the meat goes for fast food burgers and is of less value than a top skin. Believe me, the producers aren't selling the hides as an afterthought.

Mink coats rock! I grew up looking at pictures of the likes of Kim Novak in them and they have always driven me mad, I approve, and don't give a toss what anyone else thinks, and neither should you, it's your money, besides, who would know?
You could walk into a whole coven of enviromentalists and they would never believe that it was real. Nothing else on with them apart from heels, pearls and stockings, maybe a dab of chanel no 5

If people start eating Minks I might see things differently, I just see it as a nonsense luxury that makes the wearer look grotesque in any case.

Yeah the ones under a lot of stress and suffering have grey hair, whilst the ones with a cosy retirement plan have darker tones.

Yup,
I'll just bet the minks skinned to make your fur coat were treated to a two week vacation in a Paris Hilton hotel before they died,  happy in the knowledge that they were about to make such a contribution to the advancement of mankind.     Lucky critters!

Good grief, LOL -- an intelligible remark from Paris Hilton!  Will wonders never cease?

Not all that amazing... that joke has been around for decades.

I suggest looking around for a place to try on an alpaca fur coat- they're wonderfully soft, and the maintenance requirements are much lower than mink (although the colors aren't as pretty).

Not having to dress conventionally... how sweet it would be *le sigh*

Candy, try taking a fur coat and turning it inside out and wearing it with nothing underneath. I heard that was a huge turnon for alot of Women.

Almost like the very elusive grope suit, which I would like to just watch someone wear one. Somebody did say that was a myth though, busting my fantasy completely to the ground. Those pricks with facts piss me off sometimes.

T

Termy, I can't imagine you could turn a well-made mink coat inside-out.

What's a grope-suit? Sounds intriguing!

Feeling lazzzy, dun wanna run off and google, LOL.

Peace out.

*Winks at Tweedy*

So, whaca think Tweddy?  Black or Mahogeny for the color of the coat?

Shawl collar for sure, I think, and 3/4 length.

So it's Chanel No. 5 huh?  Man, that's an old frangrance, but it is lovely.

Now, as to the pearls, I presume white ones?  And maybe 20 in length?

Heels aren't easy for me. I do need new 'FM shoes'.  What do you think of kitten heels?

Or maybe lace-up-the-front thigh high boots wth cuban heels?  What color...seems like they'd have to match the coat.

I need more support and can no longer stride around in stilettos but o well, I can adapt.

Ever see that an ad campaign for mink coats, 'What Becomes A Legend Most?'  Sofia Loren did one, and Lauren Bacall...cannot remember who else.

I don't eat rodents, FullCircle.

I have all sorts of 'politcally incorrect' views.  You might not like me anyway. However, one of the joys of my life as it is currently arranged is that I no longer have anyone I need please apart from myself.

What's a brick phone?  I've never heard of it.

and you were saying you would not be able to pay $7 a gallon for gas...

Maya, I usually enjoy reading your posts.  I find them thought and well-written.

Can I just say something?

My expenses and my income both swing widely.  Cigarettes are an example.  After Ohio enacted the 'no smoking freaking anywhere' ban, the price went up again -- significantly.  I assume more 'sin taxes' were imposed on smokers.   Thankfully gas has come back down in price and apparently that crisis is over.

Now, that's about all the 'personal info' I think I owe anyone.

I'm not haviing Termy drive me to the furrier tomorrow; a mink coat should not be an impluse buy.  For one thing, it should last all your life, possibly longer, and it needs to be extremely well-made.  That's why my girlfriend's folks took her to NYC after we graduated.

I doubt I can afford to do that, and anyway, there are furriers in Cleveland.  Just need to 'vet' them.

This is something I have craved all my life, Maya.  While you may not share my fetish, I don't know why you'd have any trouble allowing me the luxury of indulging every sensual or sexual joy I am able to gather into my life.

Folks sexualize many, many things.  I don't think I'm all that unusual in my fetish for a mink coat, but, neither do I care.

I don't judge folks by their kinks, but by their character.

Please stop using the archives to report or tattle on me as to something I may have posted ages ago.  You don't know me, you dont know my circumstaces, and while I'm sure you mean no harm, it feels creepy to me to think that someone would be using the archives to put together a dossier on me.

There are enough trolls on CM already, as I'm sure you know.

Unless and until we make friends in real life, I'm just pixels on your PC screen.

Peace out.

They're freaking rodents, ChainGoddess.  So are chinchillas.  As are gerbils, hamsters and mice...none of which I'd ever allow in my house.

Do you seriously think someone would tend them but for the fact that they have lovely fur?

If'n I were going to activate myself on behalf of animals, I'd work at shutting down dog and horse racing.  If you only knew what goes on at racetracks, kennels and ranches.  Yikes!

But, then, we'd have never heard of SeaBiscuit, so who am I to meddle?

Candy, that's one thing for sure about the South, you can't really wear warmer clothing down here that much.
Maybe for about a month or so in Dec-Jan.
I have tons of Irish sweaters and some nice wool and cashmere overcoats that I rarely get to wear anymore.
Today is Nov 15th and I'm in shorts in the 70's.

Always considered mink, but something always comes around to eat the fund, so am living vicariously.

BTW, 'mink' blankets aren't:  just sheared polyester, and mink are NOT in Class Rodentia, but in keeping with being ruthless killing machines of rodents, birds and other mammals, they're in Carnivora, but if it were in your basement and heading for the kids' room, you'd still kill it with a shovel.
Not many current dry cleaners know how to glaze fur after spot-cleaning, so if you do buy, ask the furrier for a reliable cleaner.
And no way could you get a concealed weapon out in time, unless you slash a pocket, wear a holster and fire through your mink.  what a waste! And if you cut a pocket in a mink coat, does that make it a grope suit?

Okay guys, I'll try the lamb and the alpacha...but the mink is kinda a fetish of mine.

OMW, I started practicing law in a place and at a time when chick lawyers were thin on the ground.  In fact, for quite awhile, I was the only 'girl' lawyer in my office.

O, how I dreaded being the object of anyone's desire.  I was so unsure of myself, and I kept runnning into all these 'culture shocks'  I had never met women before who believed they 'had' to be polite, no matter the circumstances.  As you may have noticed, I curse like a sailor.

So anyway, I spent many years as de-sexualized as possible in that stupid blue suit, with the ugly conservative shoes...yadda yadda yadda.

There still are judges who won't allow a chick lawyer to appear before them if she's wearing a pants suit.  The law is a bit hidebound.

But I no longer litigate.  Hire me, don't hire me....clients are like buses...there's always another one in 15 minutes.  If you cannot trust me because I'm meeting you in a coffee shop wearing jeans, O well.  No worries.  Feel free to hire a 'blue stocking' law firm downtown and pay their freight.  I'm long past feeling unsure of my skills.

At first I was just delighted to work in my pajamas or nakkie.  Then I started decorating my house.  Then I gave my darling daughter, who's nearly 30,  a sari one year for Xmas and she was thrilled.

And I thought -- hey!  I want one too!

I see no reason why I shouldn't wear a leather mini-skirt and a silk corset to go grocery, if'n it pleases me.  It's like 'dancing in the car while driving'  -- it feel's good, and who cares if someone looks at you funny?

When I think back on all the money I wasted on the 'nun suits' I could just cry.

I hope the future brings you many joys, OMW.

I dont particularly have a moral dislik for fur, but i do think mink coats belong in the 80's purely for fashion reasons they are ugly and garish and an overt display of wealth - pretty much thier only purpose, did i mention they are ugly? But Candy if its your fetish who am i to knock it.

about 4 hours later...I had a new fetish I had really never given much thought to!...Thank you El wherever you are!....
