TheTinkerer -> The Machime.... (11/15/2008 1:10:53 PM)

I was inspired by reading the writings of a friend, and a bit bored hanging around in my shop, so I began a project to make a spanking bench, of sorts. I did some looking around the Internet for ideas.
I rummaged around looking for a suitable frame or chassis for the bench, considering wood, or steel, when I came across some Unistrut steel. This is kind of a "U "shaped channel, with bolt slots on one face, and a track on the open part of the "U" that will accept a special rectangular nut plate. The plate inserts into the open side of the track, and before it is tightened, can slide adjust to position on the track. Tighten the bolt, and it clamps securely into the track.
I made some attachments made to secure the elbows and knees in, with track nuts to adjust how far they "spread" on the track. For now I have some straps or rope to secure the subject properly to the frame. I will add some nice built in leather ones when the appropriate scrap leather becomes available. Some padding would a nice touch for good girls.
Then I came to the thought that I may get tired from all the "things" I could do with such a rig.
If I needed to take a break to rest, my subject may loose interest, or doze off, so I made a motorized attachment. It has a small DC gear motor that runs from 12 or 24 Volts. With a spring loaded switch to reverse the polarity it will run in either direction. I think I will add a speed control to it, as they are an easy project. It would be a simple matter to wire this to the output of a security camera with a web server, using the pan and tilt control outputs.
I'll post more when I get a chance or make any notable improvements.

;) you have no idea lolly!

looks nice, is it comfy?  how much torque does the motor have, and what is the output RPM?  I've made a couple of these...

possibly..., but the imagination is a wonderful thing -

Love those eyes, lal'

Comfey? Hmmm,  I guess I'm comfortable with it.
The wooden "rests" could be sanded, or covered in sand paper, depending.
A bed of nails would be excessive at this point.
The motor used is only 1/30th of a HP, but at a 161:1, the output at 12 Volts DC \ almost 1 Amp,
There is around 23 RPM at the output shaft. (it's a 24V 1.8 A motor)
and PLENTY of power to "do the job"  ;)
The offset arm is about 6 inches long, with multiple holes drilled,
giving an adjustable thrust of up to 11 Inches.

When I get inspired, I'll see if I can add to it.

Mike
