Three or four times I have seen clear marks from discipline on strangers at the gym or beach.  I find it very hot.  I am interested, have you ever deliverately displayed yourself or ordered your sub to display him or herself after discipline?

How do you know that the marks are marks at all...other than my cuttings, my other marks would be more believably some sort of clumsy accident?

some marks are simply marks from cloths...like elastics in underwear.
scratching your back with sharp nails can do it too.

I look at the subject as being one similar to public play. Marks are hot for submissives and the Doms who put them there, but does the general public have to see them? Around others in the lifestyle, it is fine, an erotic stylish thing that the submissive may love to show off, but unsuspecting people shouldn't be exposed to the results of our play.

I had a massive bruise on my thigh a couple of weeks ago.. coulda been put there by some kind of implement.. it was caused by being a klutz and smashing myself against the edge of a low counter.  A while back, I had a set of scratches on my back... from the cat falling off my shoulder and tryin to catch herself (OW OW OW OW!!!!)

i agree. The only time i was ever questioned about my cuttings was by a cashier and i tried to tell her that a mountain lion had attacked me. She rolled her eyes and said...doubtful, but its good to see that others are having a good time. Other than the occasional "family member" i would be loathe to push my proclivities on non kinky people...just doesnt seem proper and kind of cheapens the beauty of the moments that brought me my trophies.

I keep all our marks under the collar and above the sleeveline. I do not have any interest in having someone spot marks and decide to be a good samaritan and get the authorities involved in a domestic abuse case when there isnt any here. I do not find marks hot, I find marks *I* have made hot. After having been in karate for many years, I have learned that just because someone has a large handshaped mark on them doesnt mean they were playing in BDSM. Sometimes, you are falling off something and caught with a lot of force (been there done that with a resultant handprint on my upper thigh and lower back from it). Not nearly as interesting as it seems, but still same effect.

Agree 100%.  It's always been fantastic a day or 2 later to be able to rub a certain spot or see something in the mirror after a shower and closing my eyes and remembering the time and place and who put those marks there.   But that is a feeling that only I can appreciate.  No stranger anywhere is going to understand that feeling.   No sense is making someone else wonder what the hell I've been up to.

In one case the mark could have been from a clumsy accident, perhaps it my mind just wanted to put it into a perverted context.   Another time, at the gym, there was no doubt.   This was a gym with significant gay population, and the guy had red stripes on his ass.  They were not caused by elastic or cloth.  They were from a belt or narrow paddle.

i've been pretty marked up before intentionally, but my best "accidental" marks were from a vanilla guy i dated when i lived in vegas.  one time i had bruises in the shapes of handprints on my bewbies.  they were so awesome i took pics and sent them to him and my best friend in salt lake. 

currently i have 3 bruises on my upper left arm that are quite intense...they look like they were intentionally put there, they weren't...they are from wrestling around with my daughters large puppy.  you just never know, and it's usually safer to not assume anything.
