On the news today: Man robs a convenience store, leaves the scene, then returns to ask for directions.

WTF?

Ok, this has GOT to be fiction, because we all know, men never ask for directions.

LOL I can top that the other day a guy tried to rob a bank , but since it was monday they had allready send out all their resident cash and had yet to redistribute new cash to the tellers. The guy got so pissed that the bank did have any money that he went home and wrote an angry letter to the bank manger. They caught him when he brought the letter back to the bank.

Nope I win.

We has a Guy knock over an ATM with his truck and then throw it in the back of his truck.

He got home and broke into the ATM and took the money, Most of it damaged from the truck running it over.

Then he put it on the curb for TRASH DAY

A Squad Car saw it and Promptly arrested everyone in the house.

Now that takes a Special Kind of Stupid.

Happened just three blocks from my house.

Ouch...doesn't anyone watch crime stories on TV? CLASSIC criminal faux pas. Never return to the scene of the crime, and never leave evidence of your crime on you let alone in your front yard. Maybe we need a Darwin's Guide for Dummies. They make those manuals for everything else.

Here in the UK we had a story recenttly about a man trying to rob a store and the cleaning lady came out from the back and beat the crap out of him with her mop. She's a hero now, been on radio etc and she is 5 feet flat and 60 plus.

The following mind-boggling attempt at a crime spree appeared to be the robber's first, due to his lack of a previous record of violence, and his terminally stupid choices:

1. His target was H&J Leather & Firearms. A gun shop.
2. The shop was full of customers - firearms customers.
3. To enter the shop, the robber had to step around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door.
4. A uniformed officer was standing at the counter, having coffee before work.

Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a holdup, and fired a few wild shots. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, covered by several customers who also drew their guns, thereby removing the confused criminal from the gene pool.
No one else was hurt.

One of my all time favourites comes from Poland where four guys tried to break into a bank but made a few mistakes and broke into the police station next door and ended up getting trapped in the cells.

One I read in a Darwin Awards book a few years ago:

A Canadian (not sure why I remembered that particular detail) woman called the police because she believed her dealer ripped her off and just gave her some kind of white powder instead of the drugs she paid for.

Good news: She had an honest dealer.
Bad news: She was arrested for possession and filing a frivolous police report.
Really bad news: She only got an honorable mention from the Darwin Awards as she is still in the gene pool.
