I'm sure Mistresses like their slaves or subs to be clean for their encounters but my question regards you Mistresses.  Do you take any special care regarding your personal hygiene - or doesn't it matter what your slave/sub thinks?

All the best,

CintiSubGuy1

LadyConstanze -> RE: hygiene (11/17/2008 4:48:02 PM)

Uhhhh I think any person who neglects personal hygiene is a bit of a piglet, I would assume it is a matter of selfrespect and well health to keep clean?

JoyfulMistress -> RE: hygiene (11/17/2008 4:57:33 PM)

Good heavens of course it matters ...
just ew with the thought of not caring what kind of condition one's body is no matter what role in or out of  this lifestyle !

Constantly - its a never-ending pattern. Above and beyond the normal de rigeur, there's waxing, pedicure, manicure, decent diet, cranberry juice, etc etc etc.

You poor thing - I'm hesitant to ask what prompted *that* question.

MsStarlett -> RE: hygiene (11/17/2008 5:07:55 PM)

Oh lord!  I hate being smelly!

My best boy came to visit me the last weekend in September.  We and a large group of my friends went down to Atlanta to visit Netherworld's Haunted house together.  The next morning, our only excuse to be 'alone' was to run over to my storage unit and move some things around.  As there is no water over there, we would have to shower when we got back to the house.... so neither of us bothered to shower before going over there.  Through our entire 'session', I kept complaining that the place smelled like there was a dead rat somewhere.  My boy said he only caught a whiff every now and then, but it was ok.  We played a while and went back to my house to clean up.  As soon as I put my head under the shower, the STENCH from my hair was overwhelming!  There was no dead rat in the house!  It was MY HAIR!  Going through the haunted house, I had been standing right in front of the corpse that 'breathed' that 'rotting corpse' chemical smell right on me!  I was so disgusted with myself.

I was wondering the same thing!

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 6:07:55 AM)

echoing what the others have said - yes it does matter however i've met male submissives who like having a non-shaving, hairy armpits and legs, etc etc type of mistress. not my kind of kink.

I never really got the "hairy" fetish but some guys mentioned that for them it represents power, to each their own I guess. I'm not a huge fan of body hair, I could deal with the hair (even if not gladly) but I couldn't deal with lacking hygiene.

ShiftedJewel -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 6:21:09 AM)

I care what everyone thinks... to a point. If it's for a first meeting? Well.. I've met some all dressed up but for the most part I normally just invite them to my house and they get to see me in my natural habitat. That doesn't mean I'm dirty and smell bad though (do I??? That is a major concern for me since I have almost no sense of smell!!! Gawd please tell me someone would find a polite way of telling me!!!)

Ok, off that tangent... Anyway... like the others, I would love to know what prompted that question.

Screw what my slave thinks! I don't want to be gross and smelly!

Lord have mercy!

I keep myself healthy and shower when I need to.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 9:13:01 AM)

I've known guys who had the whole armpit sniffing fetish...  and I've had requests for odd (to me) stuff like muddy feet!  To each their own, I hose off now and again, and even change my unnerpance.

darchChylde -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 11:50:44 AM)

I've got to say that I am a bit attracted to the scent of a woman who has the sweat from an honest days' work on her (and don't even get into the idea of a woman in a jumpsuit who smells of gasoline), but there's a limit.  She doesn't have to shave her legs every day (though the stubbly feel isn't exactly a turn on) and the scent/taste of the garlic and cheese pizza on her breath that she had for dinner a half an hour before isn't going to get in my way.  A woman with her hair tousled in the morning or lounging around in sweats all day can even be quite sexy.

But with all that said, I hold a dominant woman to a higher standard... especially my Dominant.  No She doesn't have to be in a whalebone corset with thigh-high boots all the time, but as far as cleanliness and hygiene She's got to know how to keep Herself clean and actually do it.  Just as a submissive reflects on a dominant, a dominant also reflects on their submissive.  How am i supposed to follow a woman who apparently can't take care of herself, how am I supposed to even consider that she could take care of me?

As far as a scene, i definitely expect a dominant to be clean.  I can understand some men like smelly feet or pits (or worse) in a humiliation scene, but that's just not me.  To really humiliate me or disgust me, I'd have to be the one who's smelly and icky.

*shivers, being all squicked out*

hopelesslyInvo -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 12:09:20 PM)

not to speak in someone's place, but i've heard often enough to assume it to be true that at times people will purposely rather than out of neglect allow a temporary "change" in hygiene as part of "play".  i've heard of things ranging from sleeping with sweaty leather boots/keeping their gym shoes on as a means to "heighten the effect in play" among a foot fetishist, all the way to... well, use your imagination~

in all scenarios i've heard though, it's always been temporary, and intently done; never heard tell of someone who just simply doesn't care to take showers, but who would actually come out and announce that to the general public anyway?

Sylverdawn -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 12:50:33 PM)

whats the saying.. Cleanliness is next to Goddessness..or something like that..

LaTigresse -> RE: hygiene (11/18/2008 1:57:43 PM)

After cleaning the horse barn (or baling hay) in July and before the shower, I am about as far from Goddessness as a woman can be.

If you haven't been to Iowa in the middle of summer, you just won't understand.

Well, I think that is normal and understandable but you wouldn't want to keep that smell for days without a shower

LaTigresse -> RE: hygiene (11/19/2008 7:00:19 AM)

Not even for 1 hour after I get finished.

Like others have said I bath and wear clothes first and foremost for myself.

However I quoted the above because that is not uncommon with men I've been with. When I've finished biking (I'm up to 6 days a week, 30 minutes each day on my home bike) or doing something that makes me break a sweat the men in my life have often suddenly showed up to give me a hug and if I'm in the mood about 10% of that time we end up making out or having sex too.

I'm not a make-up wearer and the men I've been with tell me that they think make-up is gross. My husband says that there is nothing more icky than kissing lipstick and not lips. Fox love to use his tongue and he shudders if he tastes anything other than skin -- winter is hard for him with me because I do use lotion on my skin. Every men I've had has been the same way.

Maybe I just pick those that like the natural me.
