Our enemies are not happy with our pick for POTUS, I don't know about the rest of you. But I would have been far more concerned had they said how happy they were.

Wonder what they would have said about McCain.

Interesting. House slaves, Uncle Toms......

So now we have folks in other countries, or in other parts of the world playing race politics. Sounds like a game of "Let's you and him fight" to me.

I don't think our enemies will be happy with us regardless. Like my grandmother used to say, "You can please some of the people, some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people, all of the time."

And no, I don't believe it is a bad thing.

Why would you even care? Al Qeada would hate you no matter what.

Meat,I don't think it is a matter of caring.Finding an American who gives a whit what aL-Zawahari thinks could be a search of a lifetime. Knowing what your enemy is saying on the other hand would seem to be prudent don't you think?

I see two ways to view this:

1.  Playing to their own constituency:  al-Qaida is using the election as a focal point for continuing to sustain anti-American sentiment in the Middle East.  Without the "Great Satan" as an enemy, their jihad falls apart.

2.  Playing to the international community:  al-Qaida is laying a trap for the new Administration.  By emphasizing/escalating the perceived anti-American sentiment (and playing on stated Democrat concerns about such sentiments), al-Qaida may be tempting the Administration to respond and de-escalate those sentiments via unconditional talks with Iran, the Palestinians, Syria, and others on the wrong side of the War against Terror.  If this sort of posturing brought the US to the bargaining table with even one state sponsor of terrorism, it would be a huge moral victory for al-Qaida.

It is neither good nor bad.  It is the next move in the game.

There was commentary about Senator McCain by Al Qaeda supporters and not in a way that the McCain campaign was happy about.

John McCain 'endorsed by al-Qaeda supporters'

Last Updated: 5:43PM BST 22 Oct 2008

" In an endorsement that will not be welcomed by Mr McCain's flagging campaign, the group said that if al-Qaeda wants to exhaust the USmilitarily and economically, the "impetuous" Republican presidential candidate is the better choice.

"This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier," the message said.

"Then, al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush."

"If al-Qaeda carries out a big operation against American interests," it said, "this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it." "
