Too bizarre for words.

Barack Obama becomes the most powerful black man in history.  His job entails working with blacks, whites, Native Americans, Hispanics, and Asians of all genders and preferences, both in this country and internationally.

A knowm terrorist with no cred in this country denounces Obama, saying that becoming President is working for whitey.

You can't make this stuff up.

Al Qaeda is going to have to demonize Obama far more than they did Bush.  He is a much greater threat in their struggle to win hearts and minds.

I get the feeling that the cultural differences between Sunni al-Qaeda terrorists and ourselves may cloud the real intent of their message somewhat. I think what they mean to say is that Obama is just like Bush, just a puppet for Israel in their eyes. They're obviously concerned about his popularity around the globe, especially his popularity among Muslims, and they're trying to temper that.

Perhaps we should send hippies over there to put flowers in their rifle barrels...

Seriously though, the people who populate the ranks of al-Qaeda will never embrace anyone or anything that fails to bow down towards Mecca, and because they see us as infidels they'll always find aspects of Western culture to demonize.

Think of it - they force their women to cover themselves fromn head to toe in black even in the summer sun while we argue about the merits of gay marriage, publish Hustler magazine, and make films about things that can't even be discussed on collarchat.

Talk about a culture war...

Yeah, like the hajies are hip to American cultural terms like that one and their uses.

Do they know he`s half white?[;)]

I smell a trickster...The limbots call him the "magic negro" and "halfrican"(Go Sarah!).Maybe they`re sourcing this .....

Here`s a report right from al-quida head-quarters,.... which probably has more credibility....

Next we`ll hear that the jajies called him a "jive turkey" or the "back-door man"[:D]

OK.  I started this "discussion," but this is my last post (I hope) on it.

The point is not that Al-Qaeda insulted Obama.  That's really not a surprise, is it?

What's interesting is the way they insulted him--by calling him a "house negro" (and invoking Malcolm X in the process!).

Calling Obama a "house negro" taps into the "unease" that at least some black Americans feel about the way Obama so de-emphasized his race in his campaign. (As a side note, I, for one, can't imagine that Hillary Clinton would have de-emphasized her gender, had she been campaigning for President, the way Obama de-emphasized his race.)

Now, I know most of you won't get that.  And most of you will continue this "he was elected to be President of all Americans:  black, white, asian, hispanic"--well, I hesitate to call it crap, but...

To me, it's interesting that when a white man is elected President, nobody talks about him being elected to be the President of "all Americans, black, white, etc...", but when the black man is elected, suddenly that's part of the job description.

I started this thread in the forelorn hope that at least somebody would appreciate that angle.

But, hey, I should have known better, right?

I agree with one thing.  You really can't make this stuff up.

You people have fun.  I'm out.

What's the problem, Blaa?  Does it bother you that some people flat don't give a fuck about race or skin color?

Not sure that means the same thing here.

Who cares what those right handed shit-eaters al qeada say anyway?
I hope it backfires on them and they get President Obama really pissed and he brings back "waterboarding" and electrical torture, "for al qeada only."
Al qeada can blow each other in their caves the slimy cocksuckers and cowards!

With Bush they didn't have to search for reasons to demonize the west, Bush and lapdog gave them enough reasons and enough amunition to recruit new terrorists for years.

Initiallly Al Qeada wanted western troops out of muslim lands and for the west to stop supporting corrupt and oppressive muslim governments, pot, kettle, black, I know but the west does support corrupt and oppressive pro-western governments to access muslim resources.

OK, Al Qeada are violent vicious ideologs but from a perspective of many muslims that is exactly what westerners look like too so if you are given a choice between jackboots, you usually pick the ones on the feet of your own.

i am patiently awaiting the eloquent and politically correct way to politely call someone a ragheaded cracker in the same sentence.  to fail to respond within a reasonable amount of time is the middle-eastern equivalent of cowering in the corner, while some quick witted and eloquent vituperation can, when handled correctly, back the other side down.  Not to respond sends a very wrong message.

Wait!

Are you trying to tell me Obama is black?

If only I had known!

The west has been responding for decades. You simply forget that if the west didn't fuck their backyard up in the first place, there wouldn't be any grievances the terrorists could use to recruit disaffected young men to fight against the west.

Jeeez! How people can think that western troops stationed all over the world and occasionaly jackbooting other peoples front doors down, giving their houses to placemen (metaphor) so the west can buy a few items at bargain price is somehow benigh but when the householder with grievances responds, the west is suddenly a victim, beggars all belief.

At least one British officer with foresight said, jackbooting your way round the world is not a good way to make friends. Pity the politiciasns refused to listen.

This is the same network that also told us that the iraqi people looted their own museums and towns when hussein was "captured". I'm not strong in arabic, but what they say and what it says in the arabic dictionary says. Don't beleive the hype people, they aren't worried about Obama over there.

It helps in a military/internally political campaign to have someone to hate.  That could partly be why Bin Laden has not been caught, and why Al-Qaeda wants to stir things up with PE Obama.  They will test to see if he has the backbone to fight, thick enough armor or hide to ward off verbal attacks, and sense enough to know when and how to respond.  This area appears to be one of his more tender vulnerabilities.  i hope that i have misread this, and that it is simply used as a distraction.  if that is the case, he is a wiser tactician than i have been presumimg.
