I'm thinking of building something as mentioned in the title- a combination ottoman/restraint platform/system. I'm envisioning something that's a little longer than it is wide. The top would be a padded lid which could be rotated 90% and set back on. With the top sitting sideways on the base, it would reveal a small gap on each side. Down in that gap, tubes would be mounted vertically - one into each corner of the base, and would serve as sleeves for the pipes that would serve as tie-points. Four large rings could slide over each of the feet, providing additional tie-downs at the bottom of the base. The whole thing would provide its own storage for all ropes, cuffs, collars, etc. The trick to it all, I think, is finding an elegant way to make the corner poles break down into smaller sections so that they'd be short enough to store inside. Not sure if I adequately described what I'm seeing in my head, but if anyone has suggestions for improvements or any other ideas, I'd love to hear them.

just use a set of telescoping chrome tubes that expand up like a telescope in sections. you need only one section to the mini0sofa and hands and feet are tied to the bottom legs and the tubes could come up to add various toys, etc. basic naugahyde would protect against liquids and secretions and be relatively cool even on warm days, etc. additional restrains could be installed for thighs and even a mouth gag. all in a nice 3 foot long two foot wide mini-sofa. tufted top would also be a nice touch. could probably build one for about $200 and sell for $500 ! You could sell for wayyy more than 500 if you do a good job... those fricking liberators are what, 500 a pop and they are just foam and some velcro straps?

sounds pretty gnarly -- have you made much progress?
there's something sooooorta in that vein on foxyfurniture that i want to build haha =p
building stuff = yay!
