well i just got done with a set of spreaders for the wrists and ankles and wanted to post some pics of them to gauge yalls opinion of them .  there is 2 small ones that can be used on my wrists and ankles depending on what the mood is and a long spreder for my ankles. it may also be able to be used on my wrists but never saw any pics of someone bound like that.  the cable on the long spreader has 2 places to lock them to to the wrists .   the other small one(with the 4 eyelets in it) is a hogtie style bar that i thought would be kind of cool.   i am going to make a longer one(same legth as the long ankle spreader) just got to get to the hardware store to get more eyelets....  thesse are my first try at them but i set them up as if they were on me and yanked the hell out of them and tried my damndest to tear them apart(not being bound in them so i would have full strength you might say) and i will be damned if they arn't pritty strong.   i have writen down what the materials were and they cost a wopping 18 dollars to make(about 20 after i pick up more eyelets) and they can be made to loke professional looking with a little stain and laquir if one choses, i just like the rough look of them.   next on my list is to make a (for lack of a better naming cause i don't know the true name of the style if this ain't it) doggy style stockade complet with a mount in the middle to support the stomach and one for the neck i just got to get access to welding and bending equipment so if there is anyone with access to this stuff in the huntsville alabama area let me know i am a pritty good welder(out of practice though) and have a bunch of ideas for some custom bondage equipment.   link for the pics is     http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p202/rednecktigger/ustom%20bondages%20gear%20created%20for%20a%20friend/

IrishM suggests putting end caps on those to keep the wood from splitting.  I really must get around to making some one of these days.

Good point re: end caps. The plumbing supply department at Home Depot has a good supply of copper caps and couplings that work great for that purpose. If you don't use the end caps the dowels will split where you're lagged the eyelets in.

Nice work on them so far. Thanks for the pics.

very nice  bars and spreaders,,as for end caps ,i just predrilled the ends with  a small drill bit so the eyelets would not split the dowels..

The biggest risk of splitting is at the center, especially on the longest one. If the bottom looses balance and the full weight comes onto the bar.

Try two eye bolts at each end. One pointing up, the other down. Form a triangle with the bar and the chain.

They look good to me.
Daddy is always making things here and there to try on me. If he sees these, I am sure I will have some similar ones soon!
On second thought, I may not tell him about seeing them and make them myself and give as surprise, hmmm, that might just be a great Christmas gift, that and me spread by them of course...;-)

well i predrilled the holes just a little smaller then the eyebolt but  i am up for the caps...   i think it will actually look pritty sweet with caps on the ends when the wood is stained..  i am not to worried about them splitting there.   the one place that i was concered with is the center bolt.   i am going to see how snug of a cap i can get for the ends and see if i could get one that will be snug that i could put in the center to reinforce the center bolt.  i will have to look into it when i have time next weekend.   like i said i am working on a longer version of the hogtie style bar and would love to get more sugestions.   once i get to try them i will get some pics up with them in use for all to see and give more tips.   this is my first atempt at any homemade bondage equipment but hopefully it will not be the last.

Those look awesome, thanks for sharing!  BLgirl is very clever, I had a similar thought when I saw the pics.   Great minds think alike, eh?

Cool start!
I made a set that ranges from 12" to 36", dark stained wood with stainless eyelets.  They are aesthetically pleasing and functional.   Much less expensive than purchased pre-made.   Of course, lots of sanding on the ends and Home Depot will cut dowels to requested lengths which makes life easier in the creation.
Keep up the creativity!  :>

The last ones I made I created from broom handles.  I find that these are stronger and more durable, and less likely to split and splinter.  I also took the time to stain them after hardware insets, to make them darker and more appealing.
