Here is a list of possible people President Bush may pardon for crimes.

I think he is going to pardon several men that have been instrumental in his administration and policies.  How many and how soon would make a good betting pool.

Given the current economic crisis, Milken and the two from Enron, Jeffrey Skilling and Andrew Fastow, are probably safer in prison than out in society.

If they're real lucky Fox T.V. will get a pardon for that piece of crap called "Entourage."

I would pardon Martha Stewart....Always thought her sentence was extreme, He will pardon Scooter Libby for taking one for the team....Miliken because since he was released he has done some good things...the rest can sit in jail although with Georgie Boy you never know! The list is interesting, and the pardons given at the end of terms always make for great conspiracy theories.

"Bush has rejected a record number of requests for pardons and commutations. In the last eight years, he has pardoned 157 people—a miserly sum compared with his predecessors."

In light of these facts I wouldn't care if he did pardon Scooter. Is eight years such an eternity that everyone has forgotten Marc Rich?

From what I understand, he could do that.  There's nothing that says he can't, anyway.  However, I would think that he would first have to have been convicted of something to be pardoned for.  I don't think that the Pres can make a preemptory pardon.

She should have been executed.  I tried to follow her directions once and my whole dinner party was ruined.  BURN HER!!!!

Kidding aside, isn't he going to pardon a live turkey this week?

They can, and have.  Ford's pardon of Nixon was pre-emptory, as was George H.W. Bush's pardon of Caspar Weinberger.

The capacity of the President to pardon himself is debatable.  The Constitution precludes Presidential pardons for impeachment cases, and impeachment is the first step to a Presidential prosecution.

Fortunately, the Supreme Court has never had to address that question.

WTF?  The two have naught to do with each other.  Impeachment is only for officials in office, and the only resultant punishment is removal from that office.

"Presidents" are not prosecuted--only former Presidents (who would then be private citizens).

Once he's out of office (via impeachment, or reaching end of his term), he is subject to prosecution like any other private citizen.

You honestly think Obama would pardon Bush?  Why on earth would he do that?
