WarKirby -> Not introducing, just need a little help with the site. (11/24/2008 11:13:04 AM)

Hello everyone.

I'm not looking to introduce myself just now, this merely looks like the best forum for the question, lacking a "technical support", or "site help" forum that I can see.

On Collarme, I'm trying to use the "Max Distance" filter to find people who are near me. But if I choose any value aside from "Any", zero results are turned up.

I'm located in Glasgow, Scotland, and it's definitely not the case that there's nobody nearby, because if I select united kingdom as the country, there are plenty of people located in and around scotland, and well within a 250 mile radius.

I'm thinking it's because the site is not "aware" of my location, and is maybe looking for people within a range of some generic or non existent location. But I can't find anywhere to choose my City in the profile options.

Can anyone help ?

location is just a distance on a scale.... if you open your mind that scale can become smaller....

this girls Master is stateside and we are blissfully happy!

Welcome and Bon Chance on here.....

I don't know.  I have people show up in my searches that based on their stated location are not within 250 miles, but apparently the search function works by zip code in the states, no matter what city you put in.  I'm not sure how it works outside the states.

It's most likely a glitch in the system.  Keep it at "any" and do a little extra work to find people in your area.

Hello WarKirby,

You can go back to the main page for the Froums, scroll down to the bottom for Test Forum.  I have also sent a message to Tech Support from my e-mail account.  A few people have mentioned problems with the location mileage feature before.

Perhaps if you did introduce yourself you could put "Greetings from Glasgow; looking to meet like minded locals
in your header?
