Just an FYI to all the birthday wishers responding .. NV fell down three steps, sprained both her ankles and is just now leaving the hospital in a wheelchair. She's going to order pizza tonight, drink lots of beer and try to log in tomorrow to read the thread. Some birthday! This is now a combination Happy Birthday/get well soon thread!

Aww poor girl. I once fell in a rabbit hole on easter and had to spend like 8 hours in the ER. So I can sympathize.

Aww you guys all rock! What a miserable day it's been! But it sure brought a smile to come here and see this thread. I laughed out loud at "happy asshole" what a classic! And happy birthday to hejira's brother in law. :)

Seriously, you guys made me smile on a crappy day. I'm gonna be laid up for awhile - I can't even stand at the moment! Was sent home with a wheelchair, a walker, and a portable commode. But it takes me about 20 minutes to maneuver between items. Vicadin is my friend tonight. Mom is here, taking care of me. Gotta love her!

You are all awesome. I appreciate all the great wishes!!

Thanks and I'll keep that in mind! Right now my ass is firmly planted on the couch. The pain level is too great to even try getting to the wheelchair or anywhere else. My big accomplishment this morning was scooting from the sofa to the portable commode (TMI? LOL). And that was with my mother's help and a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth. Crazy stuff!

Here's hoping for less mishaps for us both!

Sure hope you get better very very soon, Nueva. Just think of this unfortunate mishap as a perfect excus....erm reason to do an even more bigger celebration later to make up for lost time!!!! In the meantime, enjoy all the extra attention you're getting during your recovery! Hugzzzzzzz.
